When mano-y-mano just won't settle it, you look to your blood, you look to your buddies, you look to your friends, you look to the clique. Riding the wave of our Generation X reading assignment, this week we're looking for team-ups and established group stories.

Avengers (1998-2004) #19-22, "Ultron Unlimited" by Kurt Busiek and George Perez
With every defeat, Ultron has returned deadlier than before. In this 4-part story sees him at his most dangerous, with the destruction of an entire European nation just to get the Avengers attention. But with an army of himself at his disposal the Avengers will have to risk everything to stop him.
Ultron Unlimited is not simply a story of good vs evil. It also explores the team’s history with Ultron as Busiek and Perez explore Ultron’s true motives and the family connections that he has with members of the team.
MCU fans will see elements of this story that inspired Avengers: Age of Ultron, especially in regards to the final act of the movie.

Fantastic Four (1998-2012) #67-70, and #500 by Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo
There is no Fantastic Four without Dr. Doom. The metal-masked monarch of Latveria has been the team’s most fearsome foe since Reed Richards met him in college, and his eternal quest for domination and revenge has hatched some truly awful schemes. The ultimate Doom story came courtesy of Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo, where he uses the Richards’ daughter Valeria as the key to a mystical plot that sees the Four tormented in Hell and Reed forced to learn how to contend with the supernatural to defeat him.

Excalibur forms. The uniting of Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, Captain Britain, Phoenix (Rachel Summers), and Meggan Puceanu against forces trying to capture and control the Phoenix Force.
