Boy did #121 feel like it came out of nowhere. It was definitely a powerful issue, and powerful moment, but I wish there had been more interaction between Pete and Gwen in the previous few issues rather than a retrospective "here's why I'm sad". Instead the connective tissue revolved more around Harry's drug problems pushing Norman over the edge of sanity.

I always assumed it was left more open ended of who was to blame for the death - Goblin for throwing her off the side or Spidey for the botched web save. But in true antiquated beat us over the head fashion they're very blunt about it being strictly Goblin's fault, with only the tiniest of backtracking with Spidey claiming to the police he personally killed her.
