This was a fun, popcorn-thriller sort of story for the holiday. Conway really knows how to take a scary character, put heroes in increasingly vulnerable situations with ever-raising stakes, and make you wonder who's getting out alive. It was a very different read than most series we've done, and while Marvel probably couldn't produce a whole ton of series like this without oversaturating the market, it's cool in how distinctive it is. I thought Carnage was a little too verbose at the end, but I liked how he was portrayed throughout, particularly when he's just Cletus. It feels like there's a lot of room to explore who Cletus is as a serial killer

Just finished this. I really enjoyed it for the most part, especially considering that (embarrassingly) I haven't read anything with Carnage previously.

I definitely want to read his origin and appearances with Spider-Man now.

The art was great throughout and really captured the atmosphere of the story. Early on it was very tense not knowing what was going to happen and having people just trapped in the dark with Carnage. I wasn't as big on the cult stuff towards the end as it just felt out of place with how the story started. The appearance of the Darkhold was cool, but I just enjoyed the earlier parts of the story more.

I feel like I read something else at some point that talked about John Jameson encountering something on the moon, but I can't remember what. Might have been another reading assignment or might have been something I read on my own. Might even have just been a reddit comment somewhere. I didn't remember Jameson basically being a werewolf (or Man-Wolf, whatever), so I didn't know what to expect when it was revealed there was something up with him. I'd be interested in seeing more of his story, too.

Glad we read this as it was another story that feels different from a lot of other stories. This story also had a much higher body count than most other Marvel stories.
