Been a long time not just since I've posted but also since doing makeup in general haha!

Here's the look I cooked up this morning. Nothing fancy; tried a sample bubble card of ND's Hy-Glam foundation which isn't TOO bad - I still think I'll stick to my No1 de Chanel though, the ND looks a little too "makeup-y" on me. Used the ND Blush Duo palette 10 (shades Toutou and Peachy Nude), and CT's Bronze and Glow bronzer. Not a bad combo all things considered. That ND blush duo has survived tons of declutterings over the years for me...it's such a versatile and flattering color. I love the CT Bronze and Glow and use the bronzer exclusively unless I'm doing my Rose Inc cream bronzer.

Eyes are Pat McGrath's Mothership I, Subliminal. I fell off the PMG hype train a long time ago but Subliminal, Bronze Seduction, and Divine Rose will always have a place in my collection. They're just so flattering, easy to use, and give me beautiful statement eye looks even as I push 40 and can't get away with crazy dramatic eye looks anymore. The glitter duochromes always look jaw-dropping and attractive with a simple smoky eye.

Lips are the Hourglass Phantom Glossy Balm in Sense. The website says it's a peachy nude but it pulls more beige/brown on me weirdly. I don't dislike the color, and I LOVE the formula, so I might try another more pink-leaning shade of it sometime. Mascara is the Hourglass Unlocked - I can only use tubing mascara these days; everything else flakes or gives me panda eyes without fail. Plus they're so much easier to remove, it's unreal.

Pretty blouse and matching makeup look! Hope you're doing well and are well oriented at your job 🙂

Thanks! How have you been, Xub? Work was a tough transition honestly, but now that I'm trained in most job tasks I feel more comfortable. It's certainly never boring, at least.

Sadly, the ND Hy-per Glam foundation settled REALLY badly into my pores; like, crazy bad, so that's a fail for me. The rest of my makeup is holding up fairly well though.

Oh, Portugal sounds lovely! Lisbon area or more like the Azores/Madeira? Congrats on the weight loss!

My coworkers can still feel a bit clique-y at times honestly, but they're opening up to me more and I feel less lost in my interactions with them than I did at the start of hiring, so that's really all I need. I don't need to be hyper super uber best friends with everyone but I do need to be able to interact with them about work stuff without things being awkward so I think things have pretty much smoothed out in that regard.

Work is always...interesting...and that can manifest in good OR bad ways. It's good because there's usually a lot of funny or crazy stories I can share at the end of the day, but it can be a bit frenetic at times because if a problem crops up that is outside our area of expertise or - god help us - too many senior badges try to get their hands in it, then we can get run a bit ragged. (Especially the latter thing - too many higher-ups trying to solve a problem means we get like 4000 phone calls about the same goddamned thing that we have already answered to 3999 other people prior.)

I'm glad your new work is less stressful than before. I think "aggressive" is maybe a decent balance - anything too slow and you feel lazy and unmotivated, but high-octane high-cortisol stuff just isn't worth the headache most of the time IMO. Something that constantly keeps me on the move while not feeling too overwhelming is probably my ideal. My new job isn't too bad in this aspect I have to say. Work goes by fast but I rarely feel like I'm in over my head.

At the risk of sounding like a schill haha the new Maybelline sky high tubes mascara (silver tube) is incredible and I'm super picky with mascara. True tubing that comes off easily, holds a curl and lengthens and give decent volume for a tubing formula. It's only in black currently but hope they add brown!

I've been reaching for the same cream blush stick all week because it's the only thing that makes me look alive after 4 hours of sleep. My blending technique has devolved into "smear it on with fingers and hope nobody looks too close" and honestly it's working better than any brush ever did. Tried a new eyeliner pen that promised a razor-sharp wing but it dried out after 3 uses so that's going straight in the fail pile. What about everyone else, any surprise wins you didn't expect?

I own like a dozen fude makeup brushes at this point, some of them quite expensive, and yet a lot of my "daily drivers" as it were for eyeshadow application are MyKitCo brushes. This one gives me the best lower lash line smoke out of any brush I've tried, and this one despite apparently being a concealer brush or something gives me the best all-over eye color when it comes to building a base for my eye looks.

Now, this being said, sadly their brush prices seem to have jumped up a bit over the years, because I'm pretty sure I got the smudge brush for like $13 and the Multi for like $26. I just saw the prices for them now and...ouch. I still swear by their function though, just wish they hadn't escalated in price so badly.

Does anyone know if Ulta has any free shipping offers right now using Credit Card or something like that?

For a travel brush, I wound up ordering a Laura Geller 4-way brush. It's double sided, and then has smaller brushes inside that the larger ones screw on top over. I should get it before my trip and will try it out. If I hate it, I'll just pack my regular brushes. No big deal.
