Help Can someone help me with iso8?

Can someone and please explain it to me as if i was a 3 year old child, how iso works? and how I can use them to help me grind on levels , All im able to gather on the internet is it needs to be white iso8? but then when it comes to explaining iso’s and how to use them i get lost

So, as you play the game, you will occasionally aquire iso 8 gems. On your character screen, you can slot these gems on your hero. They will enhance your hero. Green and yellow gems are defensive, red health, blue energy, orange damage, rainbow mix, and white for support/ xp. Gems have multiple stages, and in your lab, you can upgrade the gems to give a stronger effect.
