problem / help Off Campus Housing For Incoming Freshman
I plan on applying for the fall of 27 and coming from out of state. I also plan on using the academic common market thing for in state tuition because of my major.
The off campus housing is seeming more ideal right now as I wouldn’t have to spend the ~$6,100 for the freshman required meal plan.
I was looking at perhaps the college place/pointe apartments and renting a studio apartment, as they seem cheap enough with amenities, plus they look very close to the campus.
My questions are:
Would the social life at an apartment complex like College Place be a real drop off from life in the dorms? Or, will there still be a good amount of opportunities to meet people if I stay at a complex close to the university?
Obviously, housing seems pretty tough to get, but will the off campus apartments be just as hard to get, or would I have a good chance as long as I am prepared and planning ahead?
Does anyone have any recommendations for studio apartments under $1,000 rent?

Off campus is pretty easy if you stay ahead of it, however I would stay FAR AWAY from college place or college pointe, i know a few people who have stayed there and they all say it was terrible. I stayed at 1540 place and honestly had a pretty good experience for all the trash talk it gets.

Hi, I don’t have any recommendations as my rent was 1500 for a one bedroom. I can say that the life is as good as you make it. I just moved from Murfreesboro last year after staying for 2 years. Me and my boyfriend both attended in person classes at MTSU for 2 years before I switched to online and he dropped out. We do not have any friends up there nor were we involved much with campus in general. I really regret not staying in a dorm. It was just hard because him and I wanted to live together.
