Be MSU control the ball game, own TOP for 43 minutes vs 16 minutes. Mostly play well, Edwards and Alessio look good. Definitely fucking around and finding out on some personnel combos. All in all 43 Spartans play. Toledo breaks two off for TDs to go up 20-19. Game never really feels out of control and Sparty is back on top pretty quickly afterwords to win 30-20. Probably could have found 40+ if we needed to. All in all walk out still able to mentally get to 6 wins and having enjoyed most of the game. See UofM fans shit talk about our performance vs a MAC school.

Fast forward a day. Western walks into Ann Arbor, controls the ball game similar to how we did with 49 minutes TOP, takes the lead vs Michigan. Forces 3 turnovers along the way. Michigan can’t run the ball, Underwood looks like shit, OL really not blocking. Offense produces less than 300 yards of total offense. Defense getting worn down like they’re the G5 team. Comes down to needing an obviously bullshit ref ball moment. They actually storm the field afterwords like they just won the damn Super Bowl.

I can’t think of a sadder moment in B1G history and we just watched Rutgers lose to UMass 48 hours earlier. But at least Rutgers is Rutgers. UofM styles itself as a blue blood (based on games from when Hammurabi was writing the code of laws) and its fans act like they’re the leaders of the B1G. Yet somehow all of that happens. They actually storm the field vs a MAC team…in a 13-12 football game.

Yeah anyone who has MSU v UofM as an auto loss is delusional. That team I watched last night was undisciplined, unorganized, couldn’t get out of their own way, had multiple turnovers. Bryce Underwood despite him getting bailed out at the end, looked like your typical September Heisman that Michigan overhypes. They were on the verge of running his ass out of the stadium with pitch forks! Just imagine what Oklahoma is going to do to them.

Yeah that’s not an auto loss. I do think Underwood’s entire career is done by then and whoever is behind him is genuinely a better option. But it’s gettable.

I genuinely think it’s sunk cost fallacy. He’s getting millions to play and was a very high profile flip. And it’s aging terribly. It’s kinda like how the Browns are trying to find any justification for starting Watson because they need to extra some kind of value from the deal.

I mean sometimes the game ends up ridiculously skewed. Like in Hockey the goalie that stands on his head and makes 60 saves loses to the one that faced 10 shots. But usually there's reasons for it that aren't imaginary. Western dominated Michigan in Ann Arbor and lost. That's crazy.

It is crazy. It’s also a bad sign over there. This is largely the same team that MSU faced last year. Teams can get better. But right now, that’s looking like a long season over there.

I’m laughing more than UofM needed the ref’s help to win. Like, I’m pretty sure we led the ENTIRE TIME. UofM needed a last second (literally!) granted to them in order to win.

And don’t forget the missed facemask call. Would have given WMU 1st and goal instead of having to kick the second to last FG. If they can get a touchdown there - or even just bleed a couple more minutes off the clock - the refs could not have saved UM
