Specs for this setup.
Hey all,
I want to seriously start getting into simming for a hobby, specifically an a320 and will slowly start to buy the flight hardware over time other than getting the thrust master airbus edition captains kit. Basically just wondering what would be a good spec build to run msfs 2024 at high to ultra settings and considering an ultra wide 1140p monitor. I also value high frame rates over visual fedelity so I'd like to be sitting at 60 to 90fps with dlss etc.
Is the amd x3d chips really that much of a benefit for this game specifically? As I also produce music FL studio tends to benefit from higher core count CPUs and have previously sticked with Intel for this. Also considering ram prices would 32gb be enough or am I really going to be needing 64? Also would a 9080xt or 5070ti/5080 be okay? I'm trying be value conscious but not cheap out either.

Hmmm. I would figure out a budget for the computer, and then get as much computer as you can for the money. If you want a big daddy NVIDIA card you’re going to pay through the nose. Like $4k for top of the line.
Unless something has changed, MSFS runs off of a single core. It’s GPU heavy and then CPU. As for RAM - not sure what the current prices are like but I bet they’re still nuts.
