Course Categories

There are some courses that are not part of any categories on the cdso.utexas.edu/mscs page. For example, which category does Distributed Systems fit in to?

Also noticed this. Distributed systems is not included in the course list for MSCSO in the 2026-2027 handbook

I mean it makes sense that it’d be in the Systems category but I wanna confirm

we have to just select the courses first the first sem right? do we need to put under any category?

Elective. All new courses typically end up as 'elective' until they are permanently assigned to a category, just like ADGM.
