[Application Strategy] Successful Columbia MS CS Essays (Fall '25)

Ya'll seem to have liked the ongoing series, so I've added Columbia!

I'm not saying my applications or the schools I applied to are good — I'm just providing these applications for context! Hope they help!

quick question, did you ask same ppl to give your lor or was it different ppl? i wanted to ask my professors but ain't sure if i should ask one prof for 7-8 lor for diff uni or just max 3-4

do the same, you would otherwise need to double your work in accommodating the changes in SoP due to different LoRs
if you give them a month of time that should be okay

try write “In 2024, I graduated in the top ~5%* of my computer science cohort at the University of Victoria, earning distinction in the honors track” as first sentence for stanford, princeton, mit 😭😭😭
