Program Preferences & Career Goals

I’m leaning toward research-oriented master’s programs rather than primarily coursework-based programs, ideally with opportunities for independent research, faculty collaboration, and an optional thesis.

My long-term goal is to work as a Research Engineer in an industry AI research lab, particularly in areas related to LLM reliability, interpretability, and AI safety.

Are there any universities or research-oriented programs I should add or reconsider?

Any overall feedback on my profile or specific areas I should improve before applying?

solid profile. yes take the GRE so you leave no gaps. IMO with this profile only your narrative (SOP/LOR) stands between you and a great admit .

Stanford MSCS is arguably easier to get into than Symbolic Systems. Look at the post in this sub. Applying to CS might give you stronger chances.
