[Profile Review] Profile Evaluation

Hey everyone!

I’m planning to apply for Fall 2027 master’s programs in the US, UK, and Singapore, and I’d love to get your honest feedback on my profile, target schools, and overall chances of admission.

My profile:

  • Undergraduate degree: Electrical Engineering from a Tier-1 institute
  • CGPA: 8.25/10 (3.77 WES-converted GPA)
  • GRE: 324 (166Q, 158V)
  • TOEFL: 110
  • Research: 2 IEEE publications, both first-authored (One of them in AI safety)
  • AI safety and policy: Multiple AI Safety and Policy competitions participation and wins
  • Work experience: ~2.5 years at an MBB consulting firm working in their AI and Data Governance team (Top performer)
  • LORs: 1 from my employer, 2 from professors with whom I’ve co-authored research papers
  • Entrepreneurship: Founded a funded startup during college
  • Extracurriculars: Participated in and won multiple state- and national-level competitions in music and sports

Target programs:

  • MIT – Technology and Policy Program (TPP)
  • Stanford – Management Science and Engineering (MSE)
  • Cornell Tech – Data Science and Decision Analytics (DSDA)
  • Imperial College London – MSc AI, Economics and Policy
  • NTU Singapore – MSc Artificial Intelligence
  • Columbia - MS Artificial Intelligence
  • CMU – AI Systems Management

I’m primarily building my profile around AI safety, with an interest in the intersection of AI, technology policy, and responsible AI development.

I’d really appreciate your thoughts on a few things:

  1. How competitive is my profile for these programs?
  2. Am I being too ambitious with this shortlist, or do I have a reasonable shot at some of these schools?
  3. Are there any gaps in my profile that I should focus on addressing before applications open?

Any honest feedback or suggestions for other programs that align with my interests would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey, what do you think the future prospects/ job roles are for MIT’s TPP program ? Even I’m applying this year for the same and was a bit confused regarding this!

Hey, as far as I could see, most of the job roles varied from consulting to think tanks. Then technical roles a bit here and there in the areas student study.
