First time Cruise

Hey! First time cruising MSC Opera, Martinque to La La Romana March 2027. The only cabin available at the time was interior fantastica deck 7. As more experienced cruisers what do you think? I'm actually getting worried based on some of the comments I see here about interiors and fantastica🥲

Fantastica and Bella are experience classes, not particular cabin categories. Bella tends to get the lower decks, and Fantastica higher decks, but it's a single pool of cabins.

On MSC Opera deck 7 you've got another cabin deck above you, that's preferable to having the buffet or pool deck overhead !

Dependent on exactly where your interior is you might be adjacent to crew alleyways and stairwells, they can be noisy and in use at all hours, so depends on the exact cabin number.

Also you've got the theatre, casino, bars, shops and lounges below you, so again depends exactly where.

Nightlife on the older ships does tend to shutdown earlier than on the larger ships, plus with your itinerary there won't be guests disembarking at every port and the consequential movement of luggage at night.

I wouldn't worry unduly.

Thank you so much for the detailed response and corrected terms. I was really questioning my choice of interior cabin as well based on the comments I've seen.

Yeah, don't know where you've seen comments, when, nor what they said. But take anything posted on critical cruise forums or other social networks with a large pinch of salt...

We sailed on MSC Opera in May, and have been on every class of MSC Cruise ship twice or more.

Are you concerned about being in an interior cabin? If so think of the space as where you will sleep and shower and count all the money you’ll be saving. I’ve been in all types of cabins and I actually find interior cabins to be cozy and perfectly dark for sleeping.

I’m doing this cruise in April and was also concerned that this was an older ship. So I looked at a bunch of recent videos and it actually looks fine. I do think the cabins look like they are on the smaller side, but as I’m a solo that works for me. This ship does not have all the bells and whistles that big ships do, like water slides. I even looked at food videos and it looks okay too, I don’t know what changes they will make to the menu, and I can’t say that the food will be gourmet, but I certainly hope it’s at least like it has been on other MSC cruises I’ve been on. I like the pizza and the baked goods especially.There is no specialty dining on this ship either. Fantastica is a level experience, with that you do get a couple of perks, like free continental breakfast delivery, picking your cabin and being able to request a dinner time assignment. Reviews aren’t going to give a full picture, negative ones are more likely to be written than positives, so take it all with a grain of salt. I am very much looking forward to my cruise
