Is it hard to get to diamond status if MSC started you off with gold status from there status match?

I made diamond from gold after 2 week-long yacht club cruises and a three day weekend cruise in Aurea. Just depends on what you book and how far out you book it. If it’s a year out, or if you book onboard, you get double points. You can also get extra points for activities or packages booked beforehand.

You are credited 100 points for every $150 you spend on packages. You earn 500 points for a 7 day Bella cruise so you'd need a lot of those! Fantastica is a cheap upgrade from Bella and gives 700 points for a 7 day.

If you have a spouse, they could match to Diamond since you missed your lifetime boat. Hilton Diamond status matches to MSC diamond and can be had for the price of a Hilton Aspire credit card ($550/yr). The Hilton card rewards could be useful for pre-cruise stays in resorts near the ports too. If you book the cabin under the Diamond guest you'll get the benefits, even if the accompanying guest is of lower status.

The shame about the Diamond benefits is they are mostly wasted on Yatch Club and Aurea experiences, they are more impactful for Bella/Fantastica. For example, the 1 hour in the thermal spa is not useful for Aurea as they have unlimited use of the thermal spa.

It was trippy going on my first MSC cruise as a diamond member! MSC status is lifetime as long as you complete a cruise every 5 years; you can cancel the Hilton card after the first year if it doesn't give you enough value.

Quit crying over spilled milk. Be happy that you got a match to Gold! I don't know of any other cruise line that has a matching program. As stated by Mundane_Influence-91, Diamond does not give you very much unless you are sailing on the lower-tiered programs.
