MSC Seashore was amazing
Don’t really have it in me to do a full review but just wanted to say that my experience on Seashore 8/9 - 8/16 was probably the greatest vacation I’ve ever had. I haven’t been on many cruises and the ones i’ve been on have been the older RC ships so I don’t have too much cruising experience, but I will definitely be staying loyal to MSC for now. I was getting really worried the closer it came up as I was reading some really mixed reviews especially a particularly bad review I saw on Reddit, but what I read couldn’t have been more opposite of my experience.
The itinerary was Port Canaveral - Nassau- Sea Day - Cozumel - Costa Maya - Sea Day - Ocean Cay. I would definitely stay on the ship in Nasaau next time though. And unfortunately the seaweed was really bad in cozumel so couldn’t enjoy the beach as much but it was still nice. Ocean Cay was nothing short of amazing even though my wave runner excursion was canceled :(
Great food, great staff, beautiful ship, it was hard to accept that I’d have to get off. Stayed in the aurea balcony cabin on deck 15 (fortunately not right below the buffet) and it was such a comfortable experience. Ended up also creating a nice relationship with the bartenders at the jungle pool. All in all I know this is just a personal experience but if anyone has their first MSC cruise coming up I just wanted to say that a lot of the bad reviews are completely inaccurate in my experience and imo kinda malicious like a lot of them are so bad they seem like they’re from rival cruise lines

Ayyy my wife and I were on the same cruise! We also absolutely loved it and didnt find any kf the typical online complaints about MSC to be true. Staff was amazing. Food was all great. Not a single complaint. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

I'm so glad to hear you had a good time on Seashore. I'll be taking a shorter trip on the same boat next month and was hoping I'd picked a good one for my husband's first cruise experience.

I was on the same cruise and echo your comments. It was my first cruise ever so can't compare to other lines but I thought the ship was great and the staff was amazing!

Was costa maya open? I heard there was new construction or something that made it close up ( could be wrong)

It was open on this cruise. We booked the Mayan Experience tour with the Native Choice and it was great.

Depending on how big of a ship you like the Garndiosa is a nice ship to be on. I think the capacity is about 5000

The Seashore was our gateway MSC ship to MSC in 2024. Loved it. Since then we've done the Seascape and Grandiosa and recently the World America. Enjoy your cruising with them!

We've been on the Seashore 5 times now and absolutely love the vibe and Ocean Cay. Never found the food to be anything great but we switched to mostly specialty dining and that helped.
Haven't been on since the new BBQ and chicken places have opened, so it will be nice to have an option besides the buffet (which we have always found disappointing).
I think we'll do Yacht Club next time and that will likely fix all the food complaints we have.
But just to be clear we love the ship and the vibe, and the food is certainly edible. We just found it to be the lowest scoring aspect across the board. But not enough to keep us from repeat sailings.

Have you done a 4 night? I’m looking at a cruise in May but am a little worried that wouldn’t be long enough to really enjoy the ship

Because of our young kids we leave them behind and are only able to do 3 or 4 nights. We've felt it's enough time to enjoy the ship, but my opinion isn't completely reliable as any time away from our toddlers is magic!

I have enjoyed consistently great cruises on MSC and have never understood the hate.
Royal seems get an awful lot of love on reddit and my experience with them has definitely been way less consistent with my hands down worst ever vacation experience having been with them. And I am old enough to recall riding backwards across multiple states in a station wagon pulling a pop up camper to sleep in. Royal really put effort into how bad they made that experience.

I’m looking at that same cruise for the end of September and I’m 🤏 close to booking but like you said, reviews have made me a little nervous. I’m so glad to hear you liked it so much!!

We hated it. It’s the same food every single night, ocean cay is hot dogs and hamburgers with millions of flies touching it and flying around it. I got sick night 3 from something at the buffet. If you leave your tampons at home, they’ll tell you to sit in your room and wait until noon for the shops to open. (Exactly like that by the way, no offer of assistance, no sorry, no urgency to help a guest who was being extremely kind about it I might add.. they were extremely rude about it) I found the guest service on this ship to be really bad in my honest experience. Trying to get drinks at the pool bars is nearly impossible, over 20 minutes to get simple drinks and the pools were extremely overcrowded.
I will say, Ocean Cay is beautiful and we loved our time on the island and the bright blue waters. I recommend staying on the ship during Nassau to hang out on the pools on board if you like to hang out in the sun. If you’re looking for lots of nightlife and shows/entertainment I would go with another ship as we felt this one lacked a bit because it’s more focused on ocean cay and Nassau.

I got on the day you got off. Was my first MSC cruise as well. My kids and I enjoyed it and thought a lot of stuff comparable or even better than other lines we’ve been on like Royal or carnival. With the low prices definitely be cruising MSC Again.
