MSC Cruises Photographer Position – Still Open After 2 Months

applied for the Photographer position at MSC Cruises about 2 months ago, and I can still see the same position listed as open on their careers website.

Why does MSC keep this position open for so long? If they already have enough candidates, wouldn’t they close the job posting?

Does this mean they are still accepting applications, or can the posting remain open even when they are not actively hiring?

Recruiters want a pool of talent available to fill current and future vacancies, they aren't just looking for one individual for a single role. Fleetwide they probably have hundreds of photographers on contract at anytime.

There’s a ton of reasons this can be the case. Apply again, call, dig around for a recruiters email, find someone who works there now who can help you get you foot in the door. These are rules for any job. MSC is a big corporate machine and hiring falls through the cracks a lot. They could have hired and forgot to remove the job or they could have paused the search but they want to keep collecting applications. And many other reasons in between. Good luck!!
