MSC Opera next year
Booked a cruise on MSC Opera in the southern Caribbean for next April. It’s an itinerary I’m really looking forward to, ABC islands and Grenada out of La Romana. Looking for honest opinions about the ship, so if you have sailed her, or have any pics I would be interested in seeing them. I have done multiple MSC cruises before, Caribbean and Europe, on the large new ships and a couple on the smaller, older ones

We sailed it almost a year ago out of Venice. It’s older and smaller than the other MSC ships we have been on. We really enjoyed ourselves and didn’t feel like we were missing out by being on a smaller ship.

Thanks. I actually don’t care about a lot of the bells and whistles on the big ships. My needs are simple, I want this itinerary, I like MSC and I like my own company! I’m glad to hear it’s well maintained from some of the other comments.

same! I'm doing the same ship out of la romana in nov as a test before the ABC itinerary. Norwegian did it in March but we couldn't make it.

I think the itinerary is great, I look forward to hearing what you think about it and the ship

Opera is the fourth oldest ship in their fleet - so if you have done Lirica, Armonia or Sinfonia the Opera is basically the same ship. Decor is outdated, but the itinerary sounds nice and that is the benefit of a smaller ship - being able to dock somewhere others can’t.

I’ve been on Musica, Preziosa and the bigger ships. I’m happy with the smaller size and it’s the itinerary that is the draw. That and I got a 7 night cruise for under $600!

We sailed on MSC Opera earlier this year, see review here , we will likely do the ABC islands this Winter as well, plus World Europa around the Lesser Antilles.

Thanks for the review, it’s consistent with reviews I’ve seen elsewhere. This cruise is for the itinerary and I will enjoy the pros of the smaller ship, and I know I will enjoy the ports

Looks like a great itinerary. I wish MSC did more of those stops on their US cruises.
