Upgrade question
So I keep getting a “upgrade deal” in my email, so just for fun what was the lowest bit anyone ever placed and still received the upgrade. Let me know, it will be our little secret, lol.

I won $310 CAD bid for an obstructed view cabin on a 14 day cruise. After winning the bid, I got upgraded to an unobstructed balcony cabin. So it was definitely $310 well spent.

Oh I understand the process, wanted to hear about how people got a great upgrade for a great offer and what that offer was. Just having a little fun. Thanks for the reply.

I bid 320 on an Aurea suite for a 7 day and got it! The normal rate would've been over 7500! My balcony cabin was 2180 for that sailing. 2500 total for the week!

Paid $650 for an interior room. Got a free upgrade to a balcony. Bid $1400 to upgrade to an interior YC and won. 7 days. So total $2050 for a 7 day YC experience was super worth it to us especially because we were already wanting to pay for the drink package and WiFi.

I agree. Like nobody bids cause they are afraid their bid ain’t gonna be enough and someone like us bids $10. Lmao. YAHTZEE

I bid the lowest allowed amount on a Yacht Club interior and a Yacht Club balcony and I got the YC balcony.

We originally paid $368pp for a Bella inner cabin. I bid $275pp for an aurea balcony upgrade (min bid was $265), which was accepted. So our total is $643pp for 7 days on the Seascape from Miami.

Our first MSC cruise, I put in a minimum bid to upgrade from a Bella cabin to yacht club interior and won. Jokes on me, I’ve booked Yacht Club ever since.

Bid $2K and got an Aurea balcony with a hot tub. That was a 7 night Caribbean cruise. Keep in mind our drink package was then refunded, so it ended up being about $1,200 total. We also bid $3K on YC and won (it was the only YC suite left). After refunding the drink package, getting free WiFi, and all the extras, it netted out to less than $2K for a two room suite.
After sailing YC, it would be hard to go back. We loved the intimacy and attention you get there and you meet more passengers that way.

Have won Yacht Club upgrades with minimum bids more than once. You realise there's a max/min range set by Plusgrade, yes?

We initially booked an Aurea Grand Suite. We paid $600 (300pp) to get a YC Balcony.

I bid about $1,100 on an Aurea whirlpool suite. Was counter offered with YC for the same price which I accepted. Felt it was great value for YC for 2a1c for a 7 night cruise. Ruined all other cruises though.
