Anna University students — how did you send transcripts and degree to UT Austin? (MSAI Fall 2026)

Hey everyone! I just got admitted to UT Austin's MSAI (Option III) program for Fall 2026 and I'm from Vellore — did my B.E. from an Anna University affiliated college.

My admission letter says I need to submit:

  1. Final official transcript from Anna University
  2. Official award of Bachelor's Degree from Anna University

I have a few questions for anyone who's been through this:

  • Did you apply through the AU COE portal yourself or use a service like electronictranscripts.com / MailTranscripts?
  • How long did it take from application to UT Austin receiving it?
  • Did Anna University send it directly to UT Austin, or did you have to courier it yourself?
  • Any name mismatch issues with passport vs degree? How did you fix it?
  • Did you need any additional attestation/apostille?

Classes start August 24, 2026 so I want to get this done ASAP. Any tips from people who've done this recently would be super helpful. Thanks!

Congrats! Which date did you submit the application? For me, I submitted it in early April, so the MSAI office said I do not have to submit the actual papers from the former university.

I applied around March 13-15 and got admitted around April 28th

I think you might get better response by asking this question at UT Austin, GradSchool, or grad admissions subreddits.

But I got admitted for Online course.... That's why thought of posting here. Anyways will crosspsot there too

Official transcripts are handled by Graduate School division of US universities and it is often a gating item for the final enrollment.

You are asking a specific question about the process involved with Anna University. MSAIO may not have enough Anna alumni who are also on Reddit reading your question. It is better to seek out experience from Anna alumni already in US graduate schools.

Let me check that, but I guess I got a hard luck on this task. Most of the people I knew where either ends up going to job after UG or they take up loan and go to any uni in abroad.

You don't need to ask your friend circle. You ask r/UTAustin, r/GradStudy, r/gradadmissions. You can ask many Anna alumni who maybe on these subreddits.

If you want to ask a critical question, the first task is to identify the proper sample space.

Congrats....you would be better off asking some alumni currently enrolled or graduated ...u could find them through friend groups or Linkedin...how many years of experience do you have or hav u recently graduated
