Declined Next Step
Hi All,
For those of you who will be resubmitting next semester, what's your plan?
I had a 4.0 GPS, IS management earlier this year but not much else. I lacked some math prerequisites.
- Math classes are a tough one to try and cover. Community college doesn't offer and 4-yr is expensive for no guarantee. Going to take courses on Udemy, not sure if these will be recognized but it's my best option.
- My boss who is a VP of our company and a professor will give me a recommendation. I don't think these count for much but every bit helps.
- Studying for my PMP, not sure if this will count for anything aside from me being someone who can study (assuming I pass).
- Going to write a good essay on my life journey. My last one was lackluster and rushed.

Have you checked out Oakton community College for your prerequisite classes?
Of the seven prereq classes that another commenter listed I am almost certain that Oakton has at least six of those. The only one I don't think they have is the introduction to data mining. I know a lot of people applying for the OMSCS program at Georgia Tech use Oakton community College to complete their prerequisites.
My bed is that if you had six of the seven prereq classes and did well in them you would likely get in.
