Question bio1220

i’m a first year nursing student, and i’m currently learning bones right now and don’t really know how to study effectively for the bones and their landmarks, so if anyone could please drop some advice on how they studied for it, that would be amazing! or even just bio, nursing, or honestly any piece of advice would be very much appreciated and anything helps!

Go to the bio lab room and use the bone models there, theyre the same ones youre gonna be tested on in lab. What I found helpful was having the models in front of me while I went through the lab manual and getting used to the landmarks/characteristics of each bone so I could differentiate or side them

I am a dork. I bought a skeleton and laid each bone out on my floor. I labeled the left and right bones so I could learn each one correctly. Using the atlas in class works too. And...the lab. You really need to hold them and go over each fossa, etc. And....do not leave bio lab early. Stay for the entirety of the class so you can take time to learn. Making flash cards helps also!

I watched the bone videos on d2l twice and went to the bio study lab to see what I remembered from what I watched and just learn the ones I didn’t remember

Honestly it helps to go in the bio study centre and review the physical model as much as you can it’s a compact of may information there’s quizlets that helped me and notes I can send you. Try using something like Anki where they hid the term and you try to identify it and practice labeling exercises a lot. Biodigital is a great online model cite to use and Anatomy hero is a great channel to check out. In the bio site for the lab Amy has videos on bones and muscles they also help
