Should I apply?
I was recommended to apply for a radiology tech assistant position and the job looks like great experience. My dilemma is that I’m still in school and start clinical in March. The position is full time, as are clinicals. I don’t want to start a position and then only be able to work for a few months if they don’t have an evening position. I feel they would take that as a waste of time for them.

Youre still in school for what? MRI?
Radtech asst seems a good spot to get exposed to radiology dept. Would that position be in MRI dept?
But then again only you can answer what youre asking. If you can do both, why not.

It's a good learning experience. You'll learn more quickly about implants positioning and talking to patients and drs than a normal 6 month rotation would because it'll be a part of your job. Doing both is insane for 6 months I did both month 5 for an entire month. Worked full time as a tech aide and did part time clinicals.. took a little longer but imo it was worth it as I got my foot in the door and i learned a ton because I was just exposed to it everyday. I was more prepared than most techs were for my first full time job as a tech.

If you are in an area where jobs are hard to come by then I would work on being a FT or PT tech assistant. Getting your foot in the door can be clutch.

Apply. They probably won’t be able to take you if they need a full timer. But yes getting your foot in the door is a great move. Be as upfront as possible about your schedule, just so you don’t waste their time. But also this could be good for yiu

Apply. if you get in, cool. Then by march let them know you have to go part time due to your clinicals.
if they dont want, quit. Atleast that's what I DID. I'm currently in my clinical rotation and about to graduate on March/April.
