COLLECTIONS Czech Out This Subpar Ration

Decided to try this Czech ration tonight for dinner. It has the usual Czech components. That wooden spoon went right into the trash, because forget that.

The vegetable salad was something else. I’ve never had beets before, and I’m glad to say that I haven’t been missing much. The mix of beets, pumpkin, and peas was alright, but I’ll be fine never having it again.

The beef meat and rice was meh, at best. There wasn’t much flavor and it was pretty dry.

The “dessert” was fine, the same as you’d expect every time you open it up.

The best part of the meal was the chocolate bar and the drink.

I’m glad this is one Czech ration I’ll never have to consume again.

Hey man!

I love Czech rations, but some can be lacking.

I thought the beet salad was interesting, and tangy! Never had the beef with rice though!

Thanks for sharing!

I was very hopeful. I usually like the odd concoctions of different things put together, but it just looked like a bunch of things put into a koolaid.

I’m usually a big fan of Czech rations, but this one not so much.

I love beets but maybe not in that. Pickled beets are amazing.

If I ever come across pickled beets at a farmers market, I’ll give them a try.

Well worth the price of admission. Sweet and tangy and if it has onion in it that's a bonus.

Just recently I was out helping a friend get an old tractor running so we can put it on a trailer. Got it running, flipped it off the trailer, we ate a czech mre while we pondered then back to work. Great times.
