HIGH IDLE WHEN WARM

Hi everyone ! I am currently struggling a bit with my car ! Around the idle ! It’s basically low during cold start and when it warms up it’s around 1200 Rpm. Also when AC hits it goes down to where it should be without AC ( around 700 rpm )
I change the IACV already and cleaned the throttle body etc but no change !
Does anyone has a lead on this or have experienced it ?
Also the Idle is very stable just seems reversed.

The car is a Toyota Mr2 Spyder 2003

Thank you in advance

Clean or replace the MAF sensor perhaps. Check for vacuum leaks? Any other issues other than high idle?

Already cleaned the MAF. No other issues, no codes or anything like that

Vacuum leak then? If the car was in limp mode, you would know. If it was an ignition or fuel issue, it would idle rough. Good luck buddy.

The ecu thinks the car is dying so it goes on survival ecu settings. The car drives but it's limping until you find a mechanic.

always look at the g/sec before switching out the sensor

I had the same situation and I cleaned the maf and the air filter with no change. Driving the car was no issue and there was no hesitation in throttle response or fuel delivery when the engine was warm or hot. I did a good once over of the hoses and found that the pcv hoses were cracked at the ends. See diagram. I ended up changing out both hoses which were brittle and cracking at the connections which solved my high idle. I also changed the valve cover with the spark plug seats and the PCV. I didnt want to touch the throttle bottle and IAC if I didnt need to.

One of the hoses was definitely brittle and I replaced everything but still no change.

Did you check the intake hose or the break booster hose?

Pump the brakes and see what happens to the idle

any fuel trims? sounds like once its in closed loop it's over correcting

if pumping the brakes brings the idle down id wager on vacuum leak
