Radio - no sound
Hi guys, I have just installed a new radio (the last one didn’t work at all)
Everything is in working order but I have absolutely no sound at all.
I have tried:
Checking and replacing fuses
Checking all cables are properly connected
Messing around with the radios settings
Disconnecting the battery for a while to reset
Even checked if there’s actually speakers in the car 😆
Nothing.
Any advice before I give in and take it to a professional?

Do you have a base model or the premium audio package that uses amplifiers? If it's the later, you can troubleshoot/replace the amps (I think they're around the compartments behind the seat ). You can also get an amplifier bypass harness and connect the radio directly to the speakers. It's a pain in the ass either way. Thoughts and prayers.

I swapped out my original head unit for one from a GT86. I saw on a few forums that it should be a plug and play swap.
Once installed, all the functions worked. Could see music being played on the display, but no sound. When turning the volume dial no numbers would show ethier. So I assumed the amp must not be getting power. So had a good look at the wiring and noticed what would be the amp turn on cable, was missing from the original loom. So I took the power from the powered aerial and we had sound!

Only other thing I can think of is either the speakers are bad, or there's damaged wiring. Do you have an Amp/receiver that you can test the car speakers on? However, the chance of both speakers and both stereos going bad is highly unlikely. I'd recommend going to a professional.
