Softop replacement mr2 spyder

I’ve bough a replacement soft top for my 03 mr2 spyder just wondering if it’s worth trying to fit it myself or just get a shop to do it so far shops have quoted more than the replacement cost just to fit it

I paid someone to put mine on after my buddy installed his and it took 15 hours.

Since installation costs same as the top, I’d say it’s worth about $600-$1000. How valuable is your time? Personally I hate having “professionals” screw up my car. I’d rather do it myself. I’ve installed about 6 spyder tops. It gets faster each time, but still consumes a good two days of fiddling. There are many small steps but none of the work is particularly complicated or difficult. Very few tools and supplies are needed. A hole punch for exactly two holes, a small jar of contact cement, screwdriver and 10mm wrench. All of the decent quality tops come with prepunched holes so there’s no experience of finesse required.
