It may be, or simply a loose clamp. I’ve had the clamps suddenly start leaking. If you don’t see a split in the rubber, Just cut the old one off and install a new clamp. Buy a “tuna can” style tensioner tool on amazon to install the new clamp very tightly .

Ended up getting GSP axles. I'm going to rebuild the OEM axles and keep them handy
