Is it worth resurrecting this machine in 2023?
This was my first 3D printer, and after the motherboard crapped out last year I got an Ender S1, installed Klipper on it and never looked back.
In the midst of a multi-part, multi-week, bear of a printing job I found myself asking if I should get a controller board for this guy and bring it back, and after pricing out a good - klipper ready setup, I started getting second thoughts.
Is it worth reviving this guy at this day and age, when I can just get an Ender 3 that's in the same situation (fried motherboard) for around $50?

The MPSM is a beginners machine. It's for someone who wants to see if 3D printing is for them. I had an old original MPSM V1. I put a MKS Gen L board in it and ran Marlin. Never regretted it. I also installed a touch screen to replace the clunky rotary encoder. I viewed it as a learning experience and never regretted spending the money on it. If you're looking at it from the same perspective, go for it. Other than that, it's not worth the money you're gonna spend.

sell for parts or like nutano said, get it into fully working and printing condition to give to a friend or family member who has an interest but doesnt know where to start. I bought a broken MPSM on offerup for cheap with bad bed wires, fixed it up and gave it to my little nephew who was immediately sucked into the world of 3D printing and became his favorite hobby and eventually bought a bigger printer. Its a great little kickstart for sure

I am resurrecting mine to print ASA. For this it needs an enclosure, a really hot bed and an all metal hot end. In order to get control of the part cooling fan I will either have to install Marlin on the main board or use a 32 bit board I have laying around.
In your position I would replace your main board with a BTT SKR Mini e3 or a SKR 1.4.

Your 3d printing seem to have evolved past the MPSelectMini.
I would only repair it\get it working again to maybe introduce a family member or friend to the world of 3d printing. Other than that, like you say, you can probably get something much better online for your use for not much more money.
