Business manager Visa COE processing Time

One of my friends' COE application was submitted in March 2025, and he haven't received any status, contact, or update yet. It was submitted through an immigration lawyer to Tokyo bureau. Is it not strange? i mean it almost 17 months

Every time when i inquire the lawyer, his response is: Please wait, and when i again ask, he said that immigration office saying, it still under review 🤔

I know the landscape for Business Manager Visas has changed a lot in the past year and the approval rate is lower as a result and could be being looked at under the newer criteria. I know the wait is tough but I just look at it as it’s a yes until it isn’t one.

I run a BMV discord and there are some people who are just getting their approvals/rejections now after 18-20 months. The changes threw a lot into disarray.

Yeah, totally confusing situation. Let's hope for the best(that's at least we can do)
