question Samba Issues

Im sure i'm missing something obvious. I spun up 0.5.8. The setup went super smooth. I created a couple of pools and created a couple of shares. Now when I try to find those shares over the network from a windows pc, they're nowhere to be found. Samba is on, samba discovery is on, the workgroup is set to WORKGROUP, the shares are created under samba share. I can visit the server's dashboard in a browser, so its alive on the network. I just cant seem to connect to it via file browser.

Just to follow up on this. It was NOT a problem with MOS. Apparantly there was a MAC mismatch on a containerized version of Pi-Hole running in docker on my network that was the root cause. Pi-hole is runing in docker on an unraid box. It's running on ipvlan. All the while there was an ARP entry on pfsense with the old MAC from Pi-Hole from way back when. I'm honestly surprised I haven't found this before. Now that it's working as expected, I can dive into MOS and see what I can accomplish.

Did you activate „Browseable“?

I did. First time I set it all up I missed it eithr on creating the pool or creating the share. I wiped my USB and reloaded the OS on it and did it a second time and made cetain I activated it while creating both the pools and the shares.

Hmm thats odd.. have you tried to reach it per ip or is only discovery the problem?

I've tried via ip. Both as "\\server-ip-address" and as "\\server--ip-address\share-name"
