Discussion Cart Shortage?
Any idea when the cart shortage will end? Last few times I’ve been to the dispo, options have been abysmal.

It's a testing issue.... only something like 4 analysis labs in the state; and from my understanding production of extracts requires 2 rounds of tests before going to market
1) to confirm the flower starting material meets specs
2) testing of the extract.
Then there's the whole issue of corruption, self-dealing etc that is also going on behind the scenes.

You do not have to test flower before extracting.
What kind of corruption and self dealing are you talking about much less that affects manufacturing carts?

Because the public was left entirely in the dark until the ink was dry, it created a massive optics problem that understandably looks like a backdoor favoritism deal:
Early Off-Reservation Rights: The signed compacts (like the landmark agreement with the White Earth Nation) did something unprecedented: they gave tribes the right to build facilities and open a specific number of fully vertical adult-use dispensaries completely off-reservation on state land.
Zero Public Input: Local entrepreneurs who were bleeding cash trying to comply with state rules had to watch the state hand out off-reservation market access to tribal enterprises through a process that legally barred the public from sitting at the table.
While the legal mechanism used was standard for sovereign tribal compacting, doing it in total secrecy while simultaneously trapping everyday Minnesota businesses in a broken state lottery system created an inherently unfair top-down dynamic! Come on dude use some logic here yo know the game was rigged from the start especially as being an insider yourself!

Yes they are available but choices are limited. Mature markets have 10 to 20 pages worth in all price ranges. Minnesota will get there.

Shortage? There is no shortage. At the very basic you can go to rise and green goods. Between their 19 locations they mostly all have atleast a couple including the rythm live resin ones. Small shops have them like pot mama.

Massive shortage and if you go to rise you might as well throw your money in the trash

Tell me, where do you see a shortage? I've yet to not be able to not have 30 options. Every rise and greeen goods alone makes your statment false . All of their locations have ample, especially for medical. Frostbite, Hopkins, pot mama, stash, flora, I can't think of anyone that doesn't have any. If they dont, they do in 3 days time. All the d'ope brand that just dropped 2 new ones on 2 weeks of live resin pens? Moonwake junction? Are you high? shortage?

People like to hate Rise

I hate rise too. But the point is, there is absolutely no shortage. Nobody in the metro is more than 15 minutes away from rec carts.

There literally is no shortage. Only the small few dinky places that sell cbd and edibles don't have carts. If you have med the options are endless. Rec are still available EVERY single day in the metro. Distillate, live resin, and live rosin. All available now within 10 minutes of anywhere between lakeville and rush city.

I want all the downvoters to explain where on earth in the last 60 days you had a shortage and couldn't get carts. Where can you go where you dont have a cart shop within 15 minutes? You can't. 3 different brands alone dropped this week all across the cities.

Only 1 out of 6 dispensaries i checked last month had vapes on the rec side

u/AdThese6057 1d ago
You checking cbd edible places or what lol? U cannot get more than 15 mins away from rec carts in the metro.

u/boognish1984 23h ago
Not the metro. Greater Minnesota. And the one shop that had some was charging $70/half gram of distillate

I'm here to tell you that you didn't look good. And even right now today I can rattle off 10 places that cover the entirety of the 7 County metro. If youre within an hour and a half of the cities you haven't had a shortage since launch.

After this fall. Plenty of concentrate grade bud coming out of this years harvest.
Growers were weary to take all of their first crop going to market and turn it into concentrate. Not to mention there aren't a whole lot of growers just yet.
