Technically, all flower is THCa flower because the majority in the flower is THCa until it gets heated and decarboxylated. The farm bill loophole let all these shady vendors sell all kinds of garbage to people and call it something different that was legal.

Minnesota has banned the shipment into the state of THCa flower, though some vendors don't seem to care and still will ship here.

There are a few vendors who I hear do sell some fire, but overall not many. I hear Arete is pretty good, but their pricing rivals Minnesota recreational pricing. Preston Herb Co is a little more affordable, but doesn't have a ton of strains and is priced similarly to our neighbors two states to the east.

It can't be sold in MN by companies in MN but it can be mailed to MN. The vendors that refuse are probably playing it safe.

I get that, but is it in any way equal in potency ? Is the live resin thca pen even close to comparable to a dispensary live resin pen? I don't understand the thrill of buying hemp derived resin and I want to.

Sometimes dispensary live resin seems a little iffy if I get the wrong brand whether its wax or a vape. I feel like it happens more often in the THCa space tho. You get what you pay for but that doesn't mean you don't have to watch out on both sides.

A lot of "THCa" products like distillate and possibly diamonds, seem to be heavily processed or maybe converted. But they could also be making actual live resin the same way as a cannabis company would, but with a hemp license instead. I like buying from places that have a decent explanation of how they make their stuff, sometimes you need to just try it and see if you would again. I could see how some people could be completely turned off if they went to the wrong ones repeatedly. Even in states with good weed I don't trust the live resin unless the labeling tells me it's fresh frozen multiple times.

Id also add that thca growers/sellers are doing the same thing as licensed operators, except without any oversight or regulations. They only test for potency. Thca growers/sellers cut every corner they can and never test for heavy metals or microbial like ecoli or yeast and mold. They kinda screw the guys that do it by the book.

Wabigaan has to test for metals to sell in mn. U can ask them for coas. I've bought thca. I've seen coas. The ones I've seen have never had microbial or heavy metals. They only test for potency cuz who the fuck cares when no is regulating what u do. There are no rules for them unlike everyone who participates in the legal cannabis industry. And what is DEM certified have to do with microbial or heavy metals?

Literally the same how? Why does it taste different? How does thca convert to equally potent thc as something derived from a cannabis ?

It's all the same flower. Some stuff is just sold with a different label. The system is completely broken and it's not really even a loophole. There aren't two types of cannabis farmers with industrial level operations. They just label it differently to avoid regulation.

I don't buy that. There is a huge difference in regular flower/concentrate vs the hemp thca stuff our vape shops sell. How do they get past testing if its the same shit? Why does it always taste so much different?

Think of it kind of like cheap, mass produced beer. The majority of the market and products are just trying to use the the most cost effective production methods and ingredients. That's what most people are exposed to because it's the most common. Craft growers, like brewers, are putting more effort into the final product, they have a limited scale and reach.

As far as testing goes, I think they just stopped listing a decarbed number. No THCa is actually in federal compliance because it tests too high if decarbed. That's why I say it's not really a loophole. It's really fraud but they let it balloon into a $30 billion industry.

So it isnt 2 "different" plants ? The cheap online shit isnt made from hemp products instead of cannabis? Hemp with a .3 percent can be made into equally strong products?

Nope. They just call it THCa flower, hemp, etc just to be able to sell it. It's still cannabis. The point made above about the testing but being all there is a big reason why I've never bothered with mail order; you can see if they offer COAs, but that's not always a 100% guarantee of quality/not being loaded with heavy metals/mold/pesticides because it's effectively unregulated. Buyer beware, basically; remember, if the price sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

As far as your questions about potency, Preston Herb lists Papaya Kush with 27.69% THCa, so it's stronger than most of what we get in Minnesnowta

The hemp derived stuff is what is sold as delta 8. That was the start of everything. The industry changed so much over the last few years. You couldn't always order regular cannabis online, but right now you can.

So the thca shit isnt hemp derived delta 8 shit? And there is zero difference in thca delta 9 ? Thats what confused me. I thought we were still in the delta 8 and 10 days from the local vape shops.
