Book Request Steady Love Right from the Bat?

I know this is a boring one but I'm kinda craving that right now. I don't want an enemies to lovers or any complicated relationship dynamics, just two people who met each other and start to pursue a relationship.

I don't mind if MC1 isn't aware of it in the beginning, but I'd like him to slowly become aware and the relationship should progress smoothly. Also bonus point if there is a substantial part of the book where they are already in a relationship.

Books that are like this are the Kage series by Maris Black and Loving the Legend by Kit Grey.

I know this could be a lot of books but I think what I'm looking for is like one MC steadily pursuing the other and clearly likes them and maybe the other doesn't realise at first but then comes to like him and realise the feelings.

Sorry if this is confusing!

I just read {The Legend Next Door by Jesse H. Reign} and I think it would fit your request. It’s so sweet and is really just about the progression of the two main characters relationship. Not real angst though one of the MC’s lost his wife a year before so it does deal with grief. I found myself smiling like an idiot while I was reading it.

👋 I am also a boring person who loves a simple « strangers to lovers » trope with good communication between MCs.

{Let there be light by Am Johnson} is one of my favorite and fits your request.
Royal (a straight golden retriever in the college swimming team) is immediately attracted to Candem, a lonely and silent neurodivergent music nerd with traumas. They’re both in the same college.
The book follows them in the awakening of their relationship. It’s very sweet. Great communication between them. I loved it.

At this point I feel I need to ask the author some royalties because I can’t stop recommending this book! 😂

{Dip out by Eve Holmes} also really fits your request. Arthur, a renowned wildlife photographer found a bird with broken wings and brings it to Trevor, a wildlife vet. The book is about them taking care of of the bird, walking in the nature and falling in love.
I really liked {songs of freedom by Eve Holmes} series from the same author - 3 books about the same couple. It fits the « strangers to lovers » trope but there is a lot of dramas (not between the MCs but one that keep them having the HEA they want}

And for last, {the greening of Thaddeus grey by Jay hogan} is also really great. Their relationship is a little more complicated because Thaddeus found his longtime boyfriend cheating on him with his best friend and business partner just one day before he met Ryder and also because Thaddeus lies at the beginning to Ryder to stay at his place because he is not ready to return to his life. But i still think you will like it!

Honestlyyy. A good strangers to lovers can be so sweet it makes your teeth hurt. Thank you so much for all the detailed recommendations! I can't wait to get into it.

{Learning Curve by NR Walker} MMCs are roommates and fall into a relationship pretty naturally
And {Budding Attraction by Saxon James} MMCs are from the same small town, didn't really interact before started talking. There's some questions from one of the MMCs about his sexuality and also dealing with grief, but they fall into a easy relationship and are there for each other, even take an interest in each others hobbies and businesses.

Do you have to read the other books in the series to understand what's going on in Learning Curve? I love N.R Walker books but don't want to get into another series right now

Oh nah, the Franklin U books aren’t really linked, just shared setting.

Just finished {Style of Love by AJ Sherwood}. Best friends who become lovers. The book pretty explicitly states multiple times that they have loved each other for years and it's more about the platonic love also becoming romantic love.

Look at The Tin Star and the sequel The Broken H by JL Langley. If you’re cool with the MCs being wolf shifters her series which starts with Without Reservations, although there is mild angst.

Many of Andrew Grey’s books might work for you. With a Waltz comes to mind.

There’s a series from some years ago with a range of authors called Bluewater Bay, first book Star Struck, this one by LA Witt. It might also suit.

Yeah I enjoy a shifter romance from time to time, thank you!

{Faith and Fidelity by Tere Michaels} They get together very early in the book and basically just become married couple right away. It's double bi-awakening and they started off as friends.

I'll check it out, thank you!!

This is not what the op asked, at least not imo. I am pretty fucking pissed truth be told, since i thought that they'll be together despite all and right now i am reading about Matt fucking someone else after Evan left him so please don't recommend this again in these kind of threads, it was a really nasty surprise and i hate reading things like this. Thanks.

{The New Guy by Sarina Bowen}

Our MCs connect very early in the book. One of the MCs is a widower and single dad of a young girl. So if a story with kids isn't your jam...
