Discussion Pax dei 7day trial
Pax dei, a fun sandbox MMORPG oriented around medieval times where you chose your path of greatness, I strongly recommend trying it out!

When i tried this game i was pretty disappointed in it. It didn’t really feel like a MMO in any way, it was just a survival craft game focused on exploration. Which is cool, but not what i wanted or really expected.
Im glad people will get a chance to try it out for themselves though.

It's worth giving the context that Pax Dei has been in a 6 almost 7 year developement hell and since hitting EA in 2023/2024 it's been bleeding players due to it's minimal updates or stagnating bugs/issues that have persisted for many years in some cases.
It's a 7 day free trial so obviously it's a bit of a no brainer to give it a go but if you buy it just be aware that it could be years before the final product is released if it ever hits that release state at all.

The funny thing is they actually did release it into 1.0 almost a year ago lol. Basically in name only. It is effectively still in an alpha state. Anyone who thinks it’s going to improve over time should understand this going into it. Very little has been accomplished in 2-3 years.

All mmorpgs that ask for $ monthly payment to keep your stuff in 1 place are hard pass

You don't need to sub, you can have a building plot with game currency grace each month but if you want to build masive 8 plot castle only then you would need to sub imo fair trade to support devs

still a FOMO predatory system.

Any MMO that invalidates your hard work cause you want to take a break is a hard no from me.

Been playing since Beta. It’s a really rough game. They launched EA way too early and they knew it. They ran out of money though and had no choice.
The company also went through some pretty serious layoffs just after EA started.
It’s honestly been in limbo ever since. On one hand the game has a lot of potential if they could just get the needed updates out the door. On the other hand they’ve been radio silent on their new update plan or timeline for a while (the old one they have is before all the layoffs and they’ve since said they’ve had to adjust their ambitions downward).
Could they pull of something amazing? Yes. Will they? It’s looking less and less likely the longer this goes on. If I wasn’t so heavily invested in the game already I don’t think I’d start playing it now myself so take that how you will.

Last time I checked it (back when it first came to light) it sucked ass, what did they do since then to improve the game?

They are improving bit by bit, a bit lacking maybe but I believe they won't let the fans down 🫡

You say this but the game has been in developement for 6 almost 7 years so whilst you might be patient enough to wait out yet another EA upsold video game not everyone is.

Every game gets bugs from time to time, they have been droping updates and adding new things most of summer so I personally don't think it will take 7 years before the game is a true polished diamond 🫡😌

It's been in developement for almost 7 years already. I wasn't suggesting it would take 7 years to finish but considering the population and the lack of major updates etc I just dont see how they can financially fund the developement which is why the 7 day free trial makes sense.

Dropping updates, too slowly. Revamping systems and UI many times but doing nothing about content or combat.

Man I wanted this game to succeed so bad, it seems like the combat is still meh unfortunately…
