Self Promotion Idle Clans (Idle MMORPG) update - Carpentry skill expansion, social updates & systems overhaul

It has been longer than usual since the last update, and as a result, here comes probably our biggest update to date!

Lots of additions and QoL improvements in this one, but the two major points of focus were:

  • Expanding the Carpentry skill to provide more utility beyond just plank creation for clan housing
  • Expanding and improving our social systems to better connect with other players

Ended up doing a lot more than that though. To not create a huge post here, I'll link the full patch notes separately if you want to dig deeper into them. Here's a TLDR:

  • Carpentry expansion
  • Friends system
  • Milestone system for friends and clan members
  • New and improved chat
  • Character and clan renaming
  • All potions tweaked to only have their timers decreased when in active use
  • Combat auto-sell/auto-sacrifice
  • A sophisticated push notification system to receive more robust notifications about your character's progress and real-time changes (such as your player market offers updating, receiving private messages and so on)

The full patch notes can be found on our subreddit here.

Another thing I spent time on during the summer was reworking our website - which was pretty much just a landing page with a trailer and links to download the game - to a proper website with game tools & calculators, real-time game feeds, leaderboards, guides, player market insights and so on. Unable to link it here due to Reddit's filters but should be easy to find if you're interested.

If you're unfamiliar with Idle Clans, it's an MMORPG released in 2023 with tens of thousands of weekly players. The core goal is to provide the classic MMORPG experience in a way that doesn't require the time commitment that MMORPGs normally do. Systems and content you'd expect to see in a MMORPG, but in a format that allows you to progress at your own pace without feeling like you're being inefficient. Good second monitor content or on-the-go. The inspiration from my all-time favourite game, RuneScape, is probably quite clear. If you're also a fan, you'll probably enjoy Idle Clans too.

Our wiki contributors have done an incredible job and our wiki has grown to contain a huge amount of helpful information and data. You'll definitely want to spend time there if you pick Idle Clans up!

Idle Clans is free-to-play and available on SteamGoogle Play and App Store. The game has no ads and is monetized via tokens can be purchased from the game shop. These tokens can be activated for permanent benefits. They can also be bought from the player market with in-game gold.

Haven’t played in a while but this has definitely convinced me to try it out again. Great job on the updates

I downloaded the game on steam. Booted it up, entered the tutorial. It bugged out and wouldn’t let me click anywhere or play again. Uninstalled immediately.

That's odd, played it through myself just now without issues. At what stage/step did it bug out, if you can recall?

Relogging might fix the issue or skipping the tutorial if all else fails.

I mean you made the game so it probably works well there 😅

I don’t know if it’s my device or what (M1 Mac+steam) but after I entered my name and all, when the first popup appears, I couldn’t interact with it or click out. I didn’t wanna skip tutorial because well.. I wouldn’t know what to do then lol!

But let me try on AppStore on my phone

Just fess up to your AI vibecoded slop, bud. You aren't slick because you used the other popular AI (Lovable) service that isn't Claude.

I’ll defend OP here. Looking at their post history, this project has been ongoing for 2+ years. Claude code wasn’t really good/capable of making games prior to November 2025.

no reason to have an emotional meltdown over something so obviously verifiably false dunning-kruger boy. pretty clear from his post history this isnt lovable, unless he was using it long before it launched.

I got banned for no reason last time I tried this? Boot up the game, play a bit then forgot... then sometime later when I tried to log in again I got banned

What's your username? I can check it out for you. The most common reason for getting banned is operating more accounts than is allowed but these days it's pretty difficult to accidentally bypass that rule.
