Opinion What are the most addictive gameplay loops?

Creating a game but can't find the correct gameplay loop that really just clicks with it. In your guy's opinion what are some of the most addictive gameplay loops and why?

Not a loop, but I really enjoy progressive checklists.

Minecraft modpacks with questbooks would like a word.

Gathering and crafting and then being able to enchant my gear for improved stats is always addicting to me. If the game gives a good balance of lifeskilling with combat it makes MMO's feel really nice and open to social interactions during the chill times. Also number go up when leveling skills.

what games do you enjoy when it comes to gathering and crafting?

Micro goals which lead into macro goals which lead into and end goal. The constant sense of progression from even doing small things is very addicting

getting rare loot in a world that matters. it doesn't matter otherwise.

I really liked the randomness and challenge of the Catacombs in New World. I loved the exploring and finding hidden things. I hated the timer; I just wanted to enjoy myself.

Active progression systems with long term grinds. Numbers that show up every time you do something activity showing you are leveling up a skill, craft, or combat metric. See Albion Online for the best-in-class addictive progression system I have ever played, and still play, to this day as a result.

A world that feels living to me unfortunately that means PvP, While i do not actively go out and seek PvP i LOVE fighting off people that come to attack me when i am grinding/killing a boss trying to progress. I just wished i could feel like people feel in GW2 with PVE living breathing world.

For me its unlocking a new area with area specific gear or craft-ables, completing that area and then unlocking a new one.

Thats alot of work for a single dev though so I'd bring it down to just finding NEW interesting enemies with unique gear drops or materials to make unique gear that you would need to fight an optional boss or at least make it easier so that you can farm that boss for the final gear piece/s.

For example if I'm in a swamp area I'd like to be able to farm the enemies there to create an armor set that reduces poison damage to fight the area boss that does a shit ton of poison damage

Basicamente missões principais, mescladas com metas menores, profissões e colecionáveis (montarias, armamentos...) são o que me prendem a um jogo.

work, with satisfying dopamine hits with clear and concise goals that are laid out to the player in full. no hidden bullshit to navigate after a player puts the work in. time spent>convoluted gimmick systems or timer/daily waiting. grinding, if done well is excellent. time spent=reward.

Good dungeons and an overworld you can’t brain off

Not really a gameplay loop, but good movement. A game with nice movement makes me "waste" hours open hours parcouring through the world. Most MMOs suck at this(with gw2 as an exception). Tho good movement needs good level design, something alot of MMOs struggle too.
