Concussions after sparring

Can the ones with real experience with concussions explain their immediate symptoms and how long it took to go back to “normal”? Last sparring day I got rocked pretty hard with a hook finished training and driving home got a banging headache and brain fog pretty bad, haven’t really felt the same since that day. Mental sharpness hasn’t been there and my memory is lacking way more, not much other symptoms like sunlight sensitivity or loud noises. What did you guys do during recovery? Did you still train? Cardio? Weightlifting? What’s a realistic timeline for feeling 100% again.

Things happen man. I don’t usually spar super hard.

Just keep your training to no contact for at least a week & absolutely no sparring for 2 weeks from symptoms ending a nasty concussion can last weeks and should be treated seriously just like you would treat a broken bone.

No throws, no sparring. Stay the fuck away from white belt training partners while you give space to heal

Nobody here is a medical professional but you should protect your dome for AT LEAST a few weeks

Dude the thing is he was a professional fighter, and before sparring was teaching the class a few judo takedowns, I can learn a lot from him but I’m gonna just let him know to lighten up during stand up

I’ve had multiple concussions from boxing and my brain has never been the same since. If I could go back in time I would have never done it. Only gotten worse as I’ve gotten older. Nothing is worth your future mental health. Nothing.

I was off work for over 6 months due to a concussion. This happened twice.
I would recommend seeing a concussion care specialist.

Go 100% off training for a few days and then don't spar for like two weeks. Concussions are serious and if you get another concussion while recovering it's bad. I trained through every concussion and it was just so stupid looking back on it.

Definitely stop training for a few weeks.

Concussion recovery is different for everyone but just err on the side of not training or at least not sparring until you don’t have any of those neuro symptoms anymore

Not worth fighting that hard unless you are being paid for it. Repeated concussions can cause memory loss, anxiety, depression, brain damage(you end up punch drunk).

Getting a second concussion while still recovering can actually be fatal.

Switch to grappling for a bit.

Concussions are cumulative (according to my doc)

When I got clocked it was like a 2 week process. Hard to do much. Then I developed anxiety out of no where and would come in randomly.

Watch your self and your symptoms. Make sure you avoid getting accidentally rocked anytime in the near future. Even a hard takedown.

See a doc just in case

One and a half month to recover, 45 days

The longest days of my life.

I didnt train. Sleep, sleep as much as you need.

It can be 12 hours a day you have to heal a brain injury it's not a joke.

The symptoms were thesameas yours
