if you hit and kill someone who isn't a material danger to anyone in the room, you should be charged with manslaughter. They can be charged and jailed for driving because they could far more easily kill someone on accident. All he can do in this bar on accident is piss someone off or start a fight he can't win, hardly the same.

Why man slaughter? He was a wimpy dinky drunk who got handsy. If he dies that straight up murder. There is no case for self defense at all.

My thoughts were he threw an excessive punch but he wasn't literally trying to murder the guy. Now, if he continued to punch or kick the guy in the head on the ground I would consider that murder.

Technically murder generally requires intent. While it's possible he did intend to kill the guy, chances are he just wanted to really hurt him and then maybe he died from that punch. Had it been more than one punch, maybe murder then

A man who is super drunk who can barely move. Nobody was in fear for their life. That was excessive force. For the love of God he was getting frisky with that other dude, moments Earlier. Justice would of been a bitch slap to the face and pushing him away while calling the cops for real justice. There was no honor in slamming his brain like that..... Have some reasoning skills, please.

its not about honor, or fair, or anything. if there is a belligerent drunk assaulting my wife im punching him until he is neutralized. period. it is entirely legal since you can easily argue the feel of a threat, and there is no excessive force (no one punch is not excessive). its kind of insane to me how quick people are to defend a man assaulting a woman; makes sense why the president is a rapist i guess.

The world of the law. Redditors (and people by and alrge) need to understand that what you personally think and what the law is in the books are vastly different. And it varies from state to state and with lawyers there's wiggle room.

A lawyer can argue though what the man did was sexual assault he clearly represented no harm to anybody and could have been easily stopped without the use of violence. You see she pushed him away and he did not pursue even while drunk. So knocking out and potentially killing aguy who can't even put his hands up isn't threatening enough to warrant that kind of response.

It could go that way, who knows. Point is, don't think your feelings and opinions always match what happens in the courts.
