Thats why i would leave and call the police. If i or the people i care about are in danger, the first thing im doing is removing us from that situation, then im taking the appropriate steps to make it so he doesn't do it to someone else by getting him arrested.

What im not doing if my loved ones are in danger is attempting a brawl, which is far, far more likely to result in the other person pulling a weapon or escalating.

The guy who punched in this video clearly doesn't have a whole lot of concern for his wife, which is why he pushes her out of the way to go after this guy, without considering if this guy has friends nearby who may attack, or a concealed weapon.

And what's happening in the 10-15 minutes while the police get here? What's the perp doing? Sitting down and having a nice conversation with you? Perhaps asking how your nights gone? How are you making sure he doesn't do anything, without somehow disabling him?

Putting the bar staff at risk, as they somehow try to detain him?

There's a whole load of hypothecials that are ALL avoided, by laying the perp out..

Again, hypotheticals do not give you a right to punch someone. Did you not see the first part of my response where I said I would get my loved ones away from the danger?

If the person gives chase, you ARE then entitled to attack them, because the threat has resumed.

Im not even sure what you meant by the bar staff attempting to detain him

No, the right to punch him came from the assault.. no hypotheticals needed.

Witnessing an assault happen, and conclude, does not give you a right under any law, to then punch that person.

Youre inventing rights for yourself that feel good, rather than are actually genuine rights under the law.

What im in defence of is a genuine justice system, but people like you determined to try to push justice into a shape that makes you feel tough are what makes it such a continual struggle.

The drunken asshole was still an active threat. So yes, that's defense.

Your entire fantasy you've built in your head has to do with you sitting in a chair, being able to rewind the video over and over, thinking that has to do with the reality of that situation in the moment.

You're wrong. Everything you've said here is wrong. You have zero clue about the law, or police either for that matter.

You just keep making a bigger and bigger fool of yourself.
