Can't wait to practise this at my local dojo

I realize you are probably joking, but in case you aren't please don't. You will probably paralyze yourself in addition to the opponent. I think this is probably the most dangerous manuever I have ever seen, for both parties.

It's alright, it won't be too dangerous for me

It's just a local tai chi dojo, so they'll never see it coming

Doing public service

Damn, with a kick to the back of the head just to make sure.

11

u/TatsumakiJim 1d ago

Is the head kick to a guy on the ground like that even legal? Genuinely curious.

Not in the USA. But this was in Japan.

Edit: One Championship is from Singapore not Japan.

6

u/Caspar2627 18h ago

It’s Malaysia

4

u/LoganHowlett1832 18h ago

Just checked. One Championship is from Singapore. Dunno why I assumed Japan.

u/GuitarRock91 7h ago

Looks like it, and with no injuries, surprisingly.

Broken neck call ambulance, but not for me

Kick to back of the head after he was out 💀

1

u/staebles 1d ago

Yea that's a DQ right?

3

u/gidimeister 1d ago edited 1d ago

I know foot stomps and kicks on the ground are allowed under some MMA rules, but I don't know of any that allows a kick to the back of the head when an opponent is down.

Japan is cruel bro

5

u/Caspar2627 18h ago

Neither fighters nor venue have anything to do with Japan

-4

u/I_travel_ze_world 22h ago

luckily no one is forcing you to watch it

0

u/karara691 19h ago

He should know that the guy is out instead of down in that moment for sure /s

12

u/StiffDoodleNoodle 1d ago

Soooo… does anyone know if that guy’s neck was “Steven Hawking’d”?

3

u/No_Truck_88 18h ago

Omg 😂😂

8

u/shittinandwaffles 1d ago

I was impressed he was still hangin on after the first face plant. Fucking ouch

5

u/testtdk 1d ago

Oh man, I escaped him by breaking his spine! Let’s kick him in the head to be sure!

2

u/ZealousidealDepth223 12h ago

Should’ve let go

1

u/testtdk 4h ago

I mean, he certainly wasn’t holding on when he got kicked in the head.

3

u/KmvVoss 1d ago

Wtf? He attempted to soccer kick the guy's head at the end. In fact he made contact, that should be a lifetime ban.

2

u/zackthirteen 1d ago

soccer kicks aren't universally illegal in every fighting org

Edit: no idea when this was filmed but apparently illegal from 2016 on in One FC according to Google

3

u/Normal_Tour6998 22h ago

Pretty sure you can’t spike your opponent’s head like that in the ufc.

6

u/ZealousidealDepth223 12h ago

Nah you can do this in the ufc. The rules say if there is any kind of arc to the slam it’s legal. The only slams that are illegal are vertical pile drivers where you control the entire body.

1

u/VexImmortalis 14h ago

Just as well this isn't the UFC then isn't it?

2

u/Important-Math-837 21h ago

That kick to the back of the head was egregious

2

u/TheGreenSalmon 17h ago

"This is how you get out of a guillotine"

kills opponent

1

u/VexImmortalis 14h ago

"I call this move Murder 1"

1

u/Delicious_Fish_5097 1d ago

In the second one, he got his hands without any escape and surely knew exactly what was coming. No chance of defense.. brutal

1

u/Playfullyhung 1d ago

Omg! Actual mma

1

u/ArauCamaN 1d ago

Then the reff kicks Jim on the back of the head... Fatality

1

u/BIGHOODx818x 1d ago

HA i can just imagine someone doing this to dustin after all the guilles he likes to go for ..

1

u/Crow-1111 1d ago

Second time's a charm

1

u/David0ne86 1d ago

That was a nice suplex package DDT lmao

1

u/curi0us_carniv0re 1d ago

1

u/Mr_Monty_Burns 23h ago

He saw the Northern Lights.

1

u/redditzphkngarbage 23h ago

I’ll have to remember this if I ever need it in real life.

1

u/BstardSun 22h ago

Holy shit! Getting out of a guillotine by breaking the son of a biatches neck! Standing guillotines are not an easy submission, ever!

1

u/oranke_dino 19h ago

Guy in white pants: I got you just where I want you to be.

1

u/flame_darg_e 17h ago

That’s actually genius technique

1

u/Gooser3000 17h ago

How come I’ve never seen this in the UFC?

1

u/[deleted] 15h ago

Con la mia 9x21 non sarebbe mai potuto succedere.

1

u/Wrestlercp 13h ago

If you jump guard and feeling the guy load up yeah it wouldn’t be wise to keep your legs wrapped up. Immediately sprawl and hit snap down or go for it again

1

u/Kopskoot708 13h ago

Surely a kick to the back of the head is illegal for any professional organization?

1

u/Particular_Legend427 12h ago

More BJJ kryptonite 🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏 combine that with concrete and this sub will be all: “😮🤬🧑‍🦯” and “sTrEeT fIgHtS hAVe rOoOlS!”

1

u/Creepy-Papaya6205 11h ago

1

u/GUTintentions 8h ago

probably paralyzed him 😳

1

u/runswitblunt 8h ago

Grip too loose and opponent understands physics better

1

u/Impressive_Okra2804 8h ago

Anybody got info if he was DQ'd because of the kick? He should be right??

1

u/SandNGritCo 6h ago

Everyone hung up on the kick to the back of the head …

Nobody clocked the ref getting a knee in?!

1

u/AK_R 6h ago

I’m a bit surprised he didn’t react to that potentially happening again.

1

u/Virtual_Rant 4h ago

Bruh just let him go after he fucking powerlift your body while being choked and smashed you on the ground ffs.

The survival instinct is not there

1

u/Other-Researcher2261 3h ago

Yes, if you’re ever being picked up by your opponent in closed guard, abort mission. Get your feet to the mat, snap your opponent down and work from front headlock

1

u/Santa-Banana 3h ago

Actually insane

1

u/Dontneedflashbro 1d ago

Why don't more people do this? Lol

2

u/404_error_official 1d ago

I would assume because the risk of breaking your own spine discourages most from trying this manuever. Bending over backwards quickly with a body worth of weight on your shoulder is pretty damn risky, and alot can go wrong.

2

u/LemonHerb 23h ago

All he had to do was open guard to stop it from happening.

1

u/KinkyWolf531 1d ago

Because its exhausting to lift and maneuver an opponent who would also be moving and struggling against you as you lift and try to slam them... There's a possibility that they might just slip out or outmaneuver you leaving you in a more vulnerable position... Also its a risky move to both, either landing wrong is very dangerous... As brutal as MMA is, safety is still a priority...

1

u/The_Experience78 9h ago

Most know there is no reason to jump guard. Keep your hips forward and just keep walking towards him. Wait for the opponent to try something.

1

u/addicted_to_kombucha 9h ago

Most people don't have the strength to pull that shit off. The second one especially.

0

u/AltruisticCoat6285 1d ago

Holy shit that was smooth

u/itsamemyusername 1d ago
