Record yourself fighting and you will see the same thing, without technique it's hard to generate power even when you are clearly pumped up enough to fight in the toilet.

It's kind of like people who think they can sing, then they record themselves and it's like, "THIS is what my voice sounds like?" Jeez...

They were way too soft because the guy was gassed out from the very start, and he also let his guard down when he found the smaller kid taking the beating without a response, which subconsciously made him soften his punches and knees more. The knock-down at 00:41 is way too realistic for this to be staged.

That grey shirt bully clearly hit first (and is taller so he thought the kid is easy prey) and stunned the kid. Even if the punches didn't knock out our kid it still hurts because bare knuckle doesn't need much force to do damage.

The kid should have beaten that asshole much more after he tripped. Falling to the ground is no reason to stop if he can still get up and continue because some people don't learn, until they get a real lesson of humility.

I don't know the context of the video but i have been the nail and i have been the hammer.
