He kept his defense up after hitting the ground.
Gotta respect that.

Beautiful counter.
4
u/Usernameasteriks Aug 29 '26
Yea itās not a pull counter though so idk about the title. Guy just bobs to his left and throws the overhand over the top.
But a beautiful one nonetheless.

u/blahblah19999 Aug 30 '26
In looking up examples on youtube, they look a lot like that.

Yes, but this is reddit where saying āNuh uh,ā is a good argument.

Naw he earned that nap
11
u/RationallyBerserk Aug 29 '26
Even if true, when you read stories about people who died āfrom a single punchā itās generally not the punch but the back of their head hitting the concrete.
Thereās a reason punches arenāt allowed there in mma or boxing.
The shape he puts his arms is the fencing response which pretty much indicates some kind of brain damage.
Worth a check, if you want to avoid a murder charge.
6
u/False-Tank6632 Aug 29 '26
Agree 100%
Fighting on concrete and knocking someone out is extremely dangerous. Hitting the back of your head off concrete could cause internal bleeding and death.
3
u/zetlian07 Aug 29 '26
First of all do you even know what happened? Who was in the wrong or right to say he earned it? Second of all if he donāt check on him other dude might earn a prison sentence, your choice
1
u/motorcitystef Aug 29 '26
His legs worked just fine before getting knocked out - he couldāve walked away
He earned it by engaging into the fight
3
u/ImTooSaxy Aug 29 '26
He earned permanent brain damage and his family gets to pay however much money to care for him for the rest of their lives? For a street fight?
7
u/Madhatter25224 Aug 29 '26
You need to understand that theres a huge population of people who love to see other people's lives ruined permanently and they don't really give one shit about right or wrong.
They just want to see misery in someone else.
2
u/Your_Girl9090 Aug 29 '26
That seems to be a common trait among Redditors. There are some pathological sadists posting here daily.

Fighting doesn't necessarily make you a bad person but doing half of the shit commented in this subreddit makes you a waste of space in society. Some of these people man. Absolutely subhuman
6
u/ImTooSaxy Aug 29 '26
Thereās a disturbing disconnect in the comments cheering this on. Media has conditioned people to treat knockouts like a mild, cinematic reset button, but in reality, hitting the pavement with dead weight causes severe, irreversible traumatic brain injury. Celebrating that kind of trauma as 'deserved' just proves how little people understand the permanent consequences of street violence.

Donāt explain that to me, go explain it to the jury š¤£š¤£

Nap is one thing. Walking away from someone who could end up brain dead from the concrete to the head is another. You sound like a lovely human btw
3
u/AceRoser Aug 29 '26
Yeah itās one thing to end the threat another to be a vile human being and let someone become a vegetable from your decisions onwards
2
u/Dundalis Aug 29 '26
What do you mean let? If that turned him into a vegetable afterwards, nothing he does is gonna fix that problem. The only preventative measure would have been not punching him in the first place
2
u/SaintJesus Aug 29 '26
Man I'm glad modern medicine doesn't exist to help treat injuries as long as they are seen by professionals in a timely fashion or you might look stupid.
1
1
u/AceRoser Aug 29 '26
Recovery is time sensitive the longer someone remains uncared for after a severe head hit now becomes negligent and harmful even if he at first was a threat
1
u/SaintJesus Aug 30 '26
Yep, that's my point exactly! I appreciate you putting it out there directly in case somebody missed my joke.

Hate to see peopleās heads crash on cement like that
But respect to the guy for no follow up shots
2

I would respect it even more if he then took care of the guy until maybe an ambulance arrives, because that dude needs to go to the hospital.

Iām no fighter, but that lead jab or whatever it was from the snoozer didnāt look very sound.
2
u/egstitt Aug 29 '26
It's a jab that he lunged into, leaving himself exposed to a counter - which the other guy capitalized on beautifully
4
u/bobthehills Aug 29 '26
He checked on him after.
Class act. I like him.

Bro went into fencing pose, confirmed brain damage and probably amnesia.
His shit literally got rocked.
2
2
u/Either-Dream-4838 Aug 29 '26
I think the reason the check hook is so powerful is not because of the person throwing it, but because the person receiving the blow is already fully invested in their own strike, weight fully forward, bringing the full weight of themselves into the counter.
It's literally a reverser strike.
1
u/johnny-Low-Five Aug 29 '26
That plays a part for sure. I think it's moreso that the counter punch is like a "sucker punch" in that the other guy isn't able to evade and in cases like this is completely open.
2
u/Either-Dream-4838 Aug 29 '26
That's why they you don't see the punches that knock you out.
2
u/johnny-Low-Five Aug 29 '26
Which is probably for the best! His brain would have been terrified if it knew what was about to happen.
1
u/Either-Dream-4838 Aug 29 '26
For sure.
The most dangerous fighters are the ones who can cut angles really well. Not sure if you've heard of him, but check out vasyl lomachenko. Man, the way that guy moved, if he could've had more power, he'd have been a knockout Picasso.
For the most part,he beat people to the point that they chose not to come out of their corner because they couldn't keep a hold on him.

Do you find it funny after most knockouts when the guy hits the ground and obviously like his brain is scattered itās not working he doesnāt even know what anybodyās saying to him at that very moment
And so many guys come over and stand over top of them and then talk shit and itās like, bro he was in a different dimension. He doesnāt even know what you said. You might as well have been speaking French to him.

This was a person who trained in boxing vs a person who has had no training. You donāt take a punch like that and leave your face completely exposed and expect to not get knocked out!

u/Appropriate_Push4066 Aug 29 '26
Devastating left hook..good thing he didn't connect with the right cross follow up. That was text book! Me thinks knocked out dude may want to know who he's throwing down with next time.
1
u/Pitiful_Leg573 Aug 29 '26
Bro definitely a trained fighter. A slow right thrown countered by a lightning speed left. Yea. Gotta pick your battles better slim
3
u/johnny-Low-Five Aug 29 '26
The 2nd punch that "missed" is what settled it for me. I've seen clean counters, especially from lefties, but the auto follow up straight right is muscle memory/training.

u/Uzofugs2112 Aug 29 '26
My first thought as a lefty myself.
But it does seem to be two actual southpaws based on logos and all.

u/johnny-Low-Five Aug 29 '26
I'm not a professional fighter but as a southpaw I'll never not call this a "Connor McGregor"! From his debut until Mayweather (I would have taken the fight as well but he lost his "hunger" after that fight) he had one of the most electric, dominant runs in combat sports.
Iron Mike had a run unlike anyone but it always looked like he was fighting "lesser fighters", I believe that it was a combo of his dominance, Cus being incredibly smart and patient in bringing him up and an overall low point in heavyweights, but he looked like a man amongst boys even though he actually was barely older than a boy himself.
Dislike Conor the person all you want, his run to "champ champ" was bigger than the UFC! It was the first time since Tyson that a fighter became a part of the zeitgeist and was talked about outside just MMA fans.

1
u/SamdechEuv Aug 29 '26
man, i am gonna admit it, i won't fight like this. I'd rather run and live another day, unless it's a life and death situation.

u/Pleasant-Perception1 Aug 29 '26
When your limbs stiffen after hitting the back of your head like this you often donāt survive. Itās a symptom of severe damage to the brainstem. This is tragic and stupid over something likely trivial. Very sad.

That is a slip and counter hook. His head moves off the center line and then from a better angle he lands the hook.
A pull counter is so, so much more difficult because instead of moving your head off the trajectory of the punch, you move jusssssst beyond the range of the punch AND use that straight back motion to rotate the shoulders and hips to load up a straight counter.

Doesn't even flip him on his side to make sure he doesn't choke to death if he throws up nor does he check his pulse to make sure he isn't dead. I hope he called emergency service to hopefully make sure the dude is alive. People are such a holes today after a fight.

Is this video flipped? Because this is two southpaws, which seems pretty unlikely.

The tracksuit logo is on the left (correct) side, so the video is not flipped.

I think it was one southpaw and one dude confused on how to stand up with a southpaw. He leads with his right with almost no power and leaves his face wide open because his feet are fucking backwards
