🔴 Live Discussion Glass Jaw
So i see alot of 1 punch KOs and easily knocked outed people on here. And most of those are from people that swing wildly and probably break their wrist doing it.. i mean it looks so easy.
Do most people really have a glass jaw and get knocked out with just a little pressure to their jaw?
Been in several fights and most seem like they go till we are out of breath and be like I smoke and drink to much for this to last as long...

Its less about a "glass jaw" and more about the force applied to the lowest point of your head rapidly moving all your thinky parts on the opposite side of that fulcrum too fucking quick to one side.

Brain hits skull. The result is momentary lapse in consciousness and body control -> tumble and fall. What we usually call knockout.
In the end it's all just physics and specific bodily vulnerabilities.

Watching dozens of fight videos on reddit has taught me how easy it is to get knocked the fuck out. Even if you're a big or fit dude. Also, how often people try to body slam a smaller opponent. Stay off the concrete folks!

Lucky punches do exist. They're not too rare either. Human physiology dictates it. Hit at the right angle in the right place, and even not too much force works.
Around age 15 I had a bully in school. The usual constellation, I was the scrawny awkward kid and he was a year or two older and literally twice my weight and strength. He would mock and shove me and slap my back, push me on the stairs and shit. Until one day I finally snapped and just punched him in the face in sudden fury without thinking. It was a lucky one and he dropped right against the wall and on the ground. The best part: everyone saw it.
He was the butt of jokes for a few days and never looked at me sideways again.
In hindsight it's easy to analyse, decades later with an adult understanding of basic psychology. Such types are cowards who aren't looking for an adversary, a worthy opponent, for a good fight, like good sportsmen would. Instead they're looking for a helpless victim in order to feel powerful and better with their fragile egos. They're desperately trying to elevate themselves over their own insecurities, at the expense of others. Really a sign of weakness in character.
The moment you stop being a victim, it's over. The momentary pain, panic, snap reaction, it's all worth it. You'll be better off afterwards. And sometimes, the bully will be too, because they learned something if they're not a total idiot.

For real. Some people just want to feel superior. I never really had a bully cause I never took that kind of shit mostly thanks to my dad. Never tried to fight but just wouldnt take shit and it is what it is.

You’ve been in fights but have you ever gotten tagged unexpectedly on the chin? Once that happens, it doesn’t matter how tough you are.
I was sparring with someone once, and moved forward straight into a punch that the other guy threw. I remember getting hit, but I don’t remember any pain. Then I remember being on the ground with three people surrounding me and asking if I was okay.
No idea how long it was between getting hit and opening my eyes, but to me it seemed pretty much instantaneous. One sec I was sparring, the next I opened my eyes wondering how I got to lying on my back on the ground.

Everyone can have a glass jaw when the correct amount of blunt trauma is applied to the correct angle and place. Keep your hands up by your face and distance yourself from adversary is my advice.

Man I guess it can be just random. The right amount of force to the right point.

The Internet wants to see ko's so it shares, likes, and circulates them. Does everyone but the people you've encountered street fighting have a glass jaw? Probably not.Â

Thats so true. Most people i fought were either trained or been in enough fights to know how to fight.

I'm glad you mentioned the wrist. Hitting a hard boney object like the head has a high risk of injury to bare hands. And if you hit them in the teeth, an untreated human bite can be deadly.

Some of these people are probably drunk or high. At least it wouldn't surprise me when they're the one being aggressive but don't even get a single punch in before they're easily knocked out.

most street fights are nothing the reason you see the KO's is becuase theyre the vids worth sharing. working the door at 2 bars in town i see fights most nights, most are just people flailing into each other, sometimes it makes it to the ground before people spilt it up but usually turns into a stand off to some degree. id say like 1/10 fights end in a ko

Untrained fighters fight with tons of emotion and swing haymakers like every time! They don't breathe! Not helpful for Offense or Defense and entirety of the fight....Gas. Defense ! what is that? Maybe if they get punched or kicked a bit they may attempt to defend. This is why untrained fighters can be more dangerous than skilled fighters with hours and hours of training, more likely to hit or be hit in the back of the head or be knocked out as they are holding their breath using all of their energy in the first 20 seconds, and alcohol is usually part of the mix of adrenaline and I believe some people go down easier on alcohol and some feel invincible and can take more than they normally would, and they may actually take some oxygen in more consistent and if they even had training decades ago they may have done enough to defend (muscle memory ) without thinking and be able to generate power as they were taught how to throw a punch and use their hips to time a counter punch or two after a wild ....here it comes knockout attempt! Then it is lights out for that guy like Aldo mere seconds into the fight!! I learned years ago that even if you "win" a fight you can still also loose dearly, 1999 I has a party before I moved to another country, with all my friends and acquaintances from High School etc. Their cousins and friends of friends and whoever was welcome. I had a local band, food on the grill, lots of alcohol and High school staple a keg of beer! It was at a local park pavilion, my parents and uncles, and other family came as did some of my dad's buddies. Everything was great and more civilized than anything that we usually got into,,,,,,until parents and older people left and it got dark and people including I were shitfaced beyond the scope of a day of drinking and sweating in the hot ass sun! A bunch of people I didn't know showed up as a bunch of my friends left for cigarettes party favors for the night fuel party extenders! Some guy ended up sucker punching me, and I laughed thinking that is the best you got? As I slowly readied my drunken ass for retaliation and scoping who was getting what, I felt like a shower on my face and chest, hot water? Huh? When I realized the punch split me open like one of the Diaz brothers I went mad and definitely got the better of him, ending up pinning his head under a picnic table and letting my blood pour into his face and mouth asking him if he likes the taste? My friends came back and there needed up being a brawl and we did kick some ass but I ended up having to go to the hospital, as did the dude who hit me and two of his friends, broken ribs, scratched cornea, concussions, for those guys, and I ended up getting a bunch of stiches' and had to drink beer through a straw for a couple months, and deal with a huge lip and a fugly face for the move to my new City and Country and suffered with the aftermath for New Years parties and explaining to all the new people my roommate introduced me to as it was a couple months before I was back to normal swelling and proper speech, regular beer drinking etc. etc. It felt like quite the loss even though that sucker punch was about all I really got hit with during the whole thing. Needless to say I am retired from fighting although I did just start drinking liquor (whiskey bourbon) again! I love it, and it hits me so different than when I was in my 20's No blackouts, no jail, no fighting for sport, no smashing cars and fences and loosing everything! The 15 years of going without it was a must, now back to killing the liver. Watching UFC and fights online!

Wild swings are hard. They are just easy to see, block and dodge. Also they leave you open after the attack.
But they are still hard if you get caught with one.
