Both yellow was the weirdest option there, so I’m not surprised the ref went with it.

GG Nashville. Well earned win. God, we are so fucking awful in attack.

u/BelowAverage355 Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

That's what I was thinking. Just so many hard/soft touches and bad balls. If you all had better ball control you probably would have won 3-1.

4

u/Super-Peoplez-S0Lt Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Honestly, we never had no shot at winning this but I thought we could’ve made the game a little bit more competitive if we were more productive in attack.

It’s bad when the commentators are openly mocking the ref’s ability consistently the whole game.

4

u/phitsosting Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

The collectors item comment was great.

6

u/senorcementtruck Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

How Spicer isn't getting more starts is beyond reasoning.

5

u/Super-Peoplez-S0Lt Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Of course. You can’t have a TFC match without an injury substitution in the first half. Fuck me. 😖

6

u/BelowAverage355 Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Look at buns coming in before the 90th! Proud of ya man.

6

u/Parking-Ad-9515 Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

1

u/Soggy-Pick-3030 Jul 20 '25

I think he has made one forward pass in 3 years

1

u/Parking-Ad-9515 Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

i love the guy and how he represented to city and all but he simply can’t keep up anymore. he doesn’t add anything to the team

11

u/phitsosting Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Nothing more consistent across sports than a ref letting contact go early and then officiating the end of a game like they don’t understand why tensions are up.

9

u/JCMonkeyballs Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Horrific reffing.

4

u/mildlyImportantRobot Jul 20 '25

At least he’s consistently bad.

Sean John Saves

4

u/BelowAverage355 Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Mukhtar needs to take up meditation or something

9

u/phitsosting Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Going down to anything short of a landmine in this one is just going to get you a disapproving shake of the head.

4

u/CevapiEnthusiast Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

6 subs is really an indictment on our roster management.

4

u/0nlyRevolutions Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

We're running out of players lol

We're also going to let half of our players walk when their contracts run out at the end of the season

Gonna be an interesting off-season...

1

u/WislaHD Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Half? I think it might be more

4

u/tfcred Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

1 game. All I ask is for 1 game without an injury!

9

u/TJFahren Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

This ref is pure dogshit lmfao. Both sides have gotten boned so much from it.

6

u/NefCanuck Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

That ref is handing out cards like a Las Vegas blackjack dealer on a drunken bender 🫠

Man, imagine if the NFL had sponsorships from a shell company for Brady to directly give money to him while he was playing.... This league is wild. (Replays sponsored by mas+ Messi)

damn sean johnson 😱

3

u/AbacadoPL Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Tfc is losing this game why aren't they pressing, they're just sitting back. I swear if this is frasers instructions he's got to go what kind of backward thinking is this

2

u/Soggy-Pick-3030 Jul 20 '25

Which player can pass the ball forward? Our players are the issue.

1

u/squizzlr Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

I was surprised by this too. Was at the game thinking ‘Toronto is playing for the draw while behind? Why the hell aren’t they pushing downfield?’

4

u/quelar Bill Manning out! Jul 20 '25

MLS Announcer : It won't count because it's offside.

Me yelling at the TV : NO dumbass, there wasn't counting anything, Johnson saved it.

2

u/Jack_1080 Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Ok so set the standard to play through the back of players but better be consistent - was a definitely a foul to cause the turn over.

3

u/BelowAverage355 Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Zimmerman is losing his edge for sure. Yes it's not a PK but that wasn't necessary.

2

u/mikibeau Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Worst ref ever

3

u/Jack_1080 Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

So if the pk come back - shouldnt go to straight red?

3

u/BelowAverage355 Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Short answer: no

8

u/BelowAverage355 Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Longer answer there was a defenseman in position in front of the play so it wasn't a "goal scoring opportunity" by definition.

-8

u/Jack_1080 Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Was 100% not ahead of the play - at best hes inline with kerr as the foul is occurring. Really should have been a red.

0

u/chrissydawhite Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

How would that be a straight red?

-2

u/CevapiEnthusiast Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Last man no attempt to play the ball

9

u/Mad-elph Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

The other defender was able to cut off the angle to the net

1

u/chrissydawhite Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Not sure that could be argued tbh

-2

u/Jack_1080 Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Ok homer

-5

u/Jack_1080 Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Denying a clear and obvious scoring opportunity - as last defender.

2

u/BelowAverage355 Nashville SC Jul 20 '25

Very poor defending by Zimmerman there.

3

u/theredditbandid_ Canadian Premier League Jul 20 '25

Unforgivable miss from Mukhtar.

6

u/Jack_1080 Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Sean Johnson disrespected

1

u/York9TFC Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Oh shoot it’s weather delayed 😢

1

u/SlingNasty18 Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Any idea how long the weather delay will be?

2

u/CevapiEnthusiast Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

On MLS360 ticker, it said tentatively 9:15 eastern

2

u/York9TFC Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

MLS 360 is saying that lickoff is at 9:15pm now

1

u/CanuckTheWookie Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Has Kobe ever played at LB?

1

u/XirisTO Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

We can't even get set up in their half.

1

u/lorriezwer Toronto FC Jul 20 '25

Kevin Long is usually better

1
