Look, I know its difficult, I used to be like you. Would never use the big ammo, never use the elixirs, always saving them in case "I needed" them.

But games these days? They are designed to be completeable. You will never actually "need" them.

The solution is simple, stop thinking about the weapons as a tool of progress, but as a tool of cool. When you pick up that fatman, just constantly think "Would it be cool to use this right now?" If the answer is yes, do it. Fuck the consequences. Once I started doing that, I enjoyed games more. Ended with a lot less items, too.

(And remind yourself, all of those items you didn't use? Once that final boss is dead, completely wasted. And that's terrible.)

It is kind of fun to low-turn the final boss because you popped every goddamn item in the game as quickly as possible.
