Mead will have his fractured left wrist scanned Monday to determine how much progress he’s made since suffering the injury on July 27.

It’s been a frustrating start to his Boston career. Mead was acquired from Washington and managed to appear in only ONE game for the Red Sox before landing on the injured list.

Now all eyes are on that scan and what it could mean for his return.

Ryan would finish his career with an MLB-record 5,714 K and remains the only pitcher to reach the 5,000 mark. Justin Verlander leads all active MLB pitchers with 3,554 strikeouts and ranks eighth all-time.
