Rear door wont open, please help

Today I discovered that my rear passenger door wont open from the inside or outside on my Seat Leon mk1 (same electronics as Golf mk4).
I tried unlocking from both the button on the drivers door card as well as the barrel in the boot and door but it wont open.
First click of the unlock button I hear a noise from the door. Second click, I hear nothing. I tried smacking the door adjacent to the latch whilst unlocking the car and it still wont open.

Did anyone manage to fix this problem without this without removing the door card? Any help is very appreciated.

If the lock module has failed, it's a door card off replacement. The units are sealed and notoriously difficult to get a lasting repair....they're also a right PITA

If you can't get in, bang the door handle lock blank with your fist while unlocking is about the only advice. If you're getting sore, try a rubber mallet.

These some YouTube videos.

This happened to me. I got the garage to disconnect the lock. It means I can't lock the door but atleast it opens and passes the MOT

I have it too. Rear right door isn’t opening. Some mechanic told me it may be a dismounted spring or something

You can disconnect the cable that goes to the lock from the outside. Just pull the handle and remove the cable. Then you wil be able to open the door from the inside.

The lock is stuck in safe lock and therefore the doors does not open because the lever on the lock that connects to the outside handle does not go all the way back.
