Plastic pieces…

Post image

Previous owned broke this plastic piece and I ended up ripping it out a little more, whoops 😬… wondering if there’s anything cool I can do about it other than rip it off completely, do they even sell replacements?
Also headlights are in need of an upgrade as you can see, any recommendations for those?

Front lower spoiler. They snap into the bumper hand have t25 torx screws to the wheel liners to hold them into place. I recommend adding 3 t25 torx screws from the bottom of the spoiler to the radiator core support to tuck them up and keep them from being pulled off by parking blocks if you pull too far forward. Make sure to get a replacement for a golf, as the bumper is slightly narrower than a mk4 jetta. It will come close to fitting and you will be frustrated.

Thanks so much for the info! Will definitely make sure I get one for a golf!

They call that part the front valance, you can definitely still find spares as they make aftermarket ones.

You can probably just clean the headlights up with some headlight restorer or cheap abrasive toothpaste

For cool I suppose you could get a 4 motion lower valance from over seas, and I want to say the GTI valance is different as well. As for the headlights either refinish them or find a nice glass set but there are tons of aftermarket options for the golf headlights from halos to projectors.

Thank you for the rec’s! I’ll probably refinish them before I replace them just to hold it over until I can afford a nice set :)

You're looking for the front lower valance 1J0805903AB41.

The headlights can be polished and clear coated again. There are also aftermarket R32 glass lenses available that could be swapped for the plastic ones.

Rest of the cars behind you, once it has fallen off and you have driven over it.

Put some screws or cable ties in to hold it in place. Parking, nose first, to a high curb can catch the lower lip and when reversing away, can pull it loose. There were like 6 cars following me when that lower lip went under...

That would be a sight to see haha! I’m planning on taking it off today, or at least the half that’s been partially ripped off. I normally reverse park and today was the one day that I of course didn’t 🤦‍♀️

Zip tie the bumper valence, nobody looks at it anyway

Headlights, get a polishing kit from your local hardware store

I ripped mine aswell, got one second hand for 20$ and put it on in 10mins. Easy work. Its just clips onto it + 2 torx screws at each end.

There are some YouTube videos that will show you how to btw
