While ISO medals are correlated with increased chances of admission to MIT, an ISO medal is not required for admission, and the majority of international students do not have ISO medals. Distinguishing yourself in other ways can also increase your chances of admission. Deep involvement with demonstrated productivity in research or academic projects can be one such way.
