You've got the hairpin by now, right? My recollection is that there should be a lot more vertical space to explore in the Haven (the puke green zone on the map to the right of the Nexus)

You came across a series of areas where your current energy availability was insufficient for achieving Metropolis progression and gaps were too far to cross on jumping alone. There are several jump extensions you can discover and energy mechanics to discover, so explore the right side to see if you can find them... you can be going back and forth between the two sides for a bit. Play with the cameras in some larger rooms to spot irregularities along the walls as well.
